In this game all your choices matter and have an affect on your life. It makes for a fun mix of farm sim meets shop tycoon ( one of my favorite genres ) and takes the best traits of each of these to create something really unique. Grow crops, craft items, and manage your own neighborhood shop all to save a dying town from a greedy businessman, gives me major joja vibes.

You will start with just a tiny farm plot and eventually turn it into a thriving agricultural empire. The game blends farming and life sim with a sprinkle of tycoon games, as you will also open your own little storefront only selling your local produce. The Hawkers is a cozy, laid-back farm sim where you grow crops, care for animals, and craft a bunch of goodies to sell. But there is a lot more than that. The choices and decisions you make and how you build your life in the town of Greenleaf matter and greatly affect your surroundings.

totally makes sense — polish and timing always come first. if you’re curious, feel free to check out Sharky.gg. we’re still in beta, but the whole idea is to help creators test things in a low cost way — turning an idea into a shareable multiplayer game in around 20 minutes and seeing whether that social moment is worth building further.

@sharkygg01 That’s a really interesting idea, and I’d genuinely love to do something like that too. It’ll depend a lot on time and what I can realistically polish before launch, but I definitely agree with the idea.

that's a beautiful way to put it — the game going as far as the players' hearts carry it. honestly that's exactly the kind of community energy that makes a Kickstarter hit. have you considered showing a small multiplayer moment before launch? even a 2-player co-op snippet can move backers way more than solo footage

One of the reasons I am excited about this game is that it mixes some of my favorite genres. The Hawkers is part cozy farming and life sim and also borrows some fun aspects from old-school tycoon games, a personal favorite. Spend your days growing crops and watch your garden grow, collect supplies and craft items, and if you need to fill your wallet, you can open and manage your own store. All your efforts are in hopes of saving a dying town from a greedy businessman. There will also be quests and a deep storyline where you uncover the mystery of your family’s legacy while trying to create your own legacy to be proud of!

@sharkygg01 Yes, that’s definitely part of the dream. A lightweight multiplayer version is something I’d love to explore, and a lot will depend on how far the Kickstarter campaign can take the game. The Hawkers will go as far as the hearts of its players carry it.

@retro66boy The current goal is to launch the Kickstarter in January, if everything keeps moving in the right direction. I’ll share more as soon as I’m ready. The first 50 backers will also have their names immortalized in the game’s credits.

@PendantEye This is a big improvement over the previous version! I personally think it would be better with a smaller animation and a subtle pop-up when items are collected. Adding a brief item description and showing which button to use would make it feel much more intuitive and polished

@retro66boy Thank you so much, and thank you as well for adding it to your Kickstarter wishlist. I truly appreciate your words. This game has taken a lifetime of heart, and the deepest inspiration for it goes back to when I was 9 years old, playing Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town.
