Nope. The UK was operating a global empire at that point, and had the lead on intelligence. The US was the global powerhouse factory. US’s global foot print only came after WW2 when it had asset stripped the British Empire. The US achieved this by waiting for the perfect moment of extreme stress before negotiating punitive terms of material support for the British. Then, when it became clear that Germany was going to eventually loose, you joined for the final push. Not hating, you waged a financial war, with all major combatants (x Japan) a counterparty. You got paid either via interest or influence. A master stroke really.

@kirawontmiss Okay, that's actually due to the fact of how big space is, it takes eight minutes for the light from the sun to actually get to the Earth due to it being the speed of light. It takes a couple minutes of being still to actually see those stars due to the distance.
