Yuna NAGAOKA / Sumitada MORIGUCHI 🇯🇵 139.58 / 209.13 Sumitada: “We’ve been doing our best as a pair to push ourselves to the limit of what we can do, so I’m glad we were able to perform in a way that feels like it paid off. The final ranking isn't decided yet, but we've secured at least above 4th place, so I feel incredibly happy." Yuna: “It felt completely different from yesterday's short. I felt that today's free skate was one that I truly enjoyed from the bottom of my heart. I felt like we had overcome a major challenge for me in the short program, and it was freeing in a way. I came today thinking all that was left to do was to enjoy the free skate. Of course, while carefully focusing on each element, we were able to fully enjoy performing in those four minutes. And by placing fourth, we were able to secure another pairs spot for Japan again, which was really good." Yuna: “Although top skaters like RikuRyu and others weren't competing this time, I think achieving a top-four finish at the World Championship among these wonderful athletes has become a very good motivation for our future as a pair." On the final result finishing 4th: Yuna: “Since the point gap wasn't that small, I feel like I should settle down with this result and be satisfied with it. In the free we were really aiming for the medal, and compared to last year I think we've grown a lot. Since we finished fourth this time, we will aim even higher for next year. I think this will be a great motivation going forward." Sumitada: “I'm very satisfied with fourth place right now. When I think about it, last year we finished last in the short, and we also finished last at the Olympics. We were determined to overcome this challenge here, so the result of overcoming it and securing fourth place is something truly invaluable for us. Right now, I am just going to settle down and be very satisfied with this fourth-place result. However, once we return to the rink and look ahead to next season, there are still many things to improve upon when we review the videos, and numerous challenges ahead. I feel like there’s still more ahead of us, and that makes me really happy." #WorldFigure #FigureSkating

演技を終えた瞬間に「日本ペア、3組目の世界フィギュア台乗り」だと思いました。その全てに立ち合った唯一の日本人カメラマンだと。でも上位3組は強かった。これに勝ったりくりゅうはどんだけ凄いんだ、と。でもゆなすみ、頑張りました。後続ペアの演技に拍手を送るシーンも素敵。
