I’m teaching a brand-new Penn State HHD class in Spring 2026: RPTM 297.001 - INTRO TO SPORTS MANAGEMENT 3 credits / 9:05 a.m. Tuesday/Thursday 114 Susan Welch Liberal Arts Building RPTM 297.001 provides a practical overview of careers and pathways in spectator/entertainment sports and participant/human services sports. The course: + Helps students ID and investigate potential career opportunities in pro sports, intercollegiate sports, campus recreation, amateur sports, community sport and youth programming, and sports and arena management. + Helps students develop essential skills in such areas as communication, networking, and jobs and internship exploration. + Teaches how to leverage the Penn State brand. + Covers the realities and complexities of sports management and helps students make informed decisions about future career paths, while providing foundational tools to explore the various careers available within the diverse and growing sports sector.
