While the CQWW CW contest raged on, I took refuge as I often do on the WARC bands. I had to take a video of this op’s nostalgic signal. There was a time when these types of buzz CW signals were much more common on the bands. Especially from the Eastern Bloc as it was called then using military surplus, old tube gear and who knows what power supplies but to my surprise this was just an older solid state Icom xcvr and the station was in western EU. Regardless I don’t judge these ops for pitching out bad tones as you never know their financial circumstances and this might be their last rig before SK. Hence why I cut their call. I’m just glad the op was there to answer my CQ and say hello from across the Atlantic. #hamr

@N4JAW Impressive! I struggled to get contacts today. I couldn’t even manage any FT8 this morning. I gave it a one-two punch (am and pm) to get it done.

Had to work to get this #qrp #CW #POTA in today. Started with just 3 contacts early this morning before it was time to feed family breakfast. Spent the day out, and returned to finish up as sun was setting after family left for home. A few #cqwwdx contacts helped.
