@PenseesofPascal I wouldn't call Dixiecrats vying for control over the Party from Marxists and Liberals as an "alliance". Just admit that you have no knowledge of partisan politics like everyone else.

Catholics were allied with Leftists. But so were American Southerners. It was a Cavalier - Catholic - Socialist - Baptist alliance all combined. Yet no-one views Southern Protestants as Leftists, despite being Democrat right up to the 1970s.

The Papists, allying with the Atheists, Anglicans and Dissenters sounds like the sort of thing Cromwell had nightmares about.. lol.

I must say, I was raised in a healthier form of Protestantism. The Presbyterian cry 'No King but King Jesus' is the opposite of this slavish nation worship. "Temu Christianity" is the only form of Christianity worth putting stock in.

Any Christian who puts Caesar before Christ is no true Christian. Catholicism is no exception here. And I am devoted to that cause it's the Church the Christ built.

I notice that there's a distinction between the attitudes towards men in the pop industry and even... the average left wing feminist gal. Normal women usually have specific real world complaints. Where Pop Industry Feminism is mostly about punishing men for not voting Democrat

What takes like this miss is how devotedly and often passionately religious many of the early scientists were. Newton wasn't a 'respectable Anglican'. He was a fanatic scouring the Bible for cryptic prophecies. Blaise Pascal was a Jansenist who wore hairshirts. etc

I believe firmly that all comedy is just a mask over a serious core. There are many comedies (e.g Monty Python, Hitchhikers Guide) where the jokes themselves are funny but I'm held back from fully enjoying them because I disagree with the serious core.

@Narsh34 He was kind of beyond 'heretic'. He was trying to restart Egyptian Polytheism in Renaissance Italy. Inquisition didn't want to kill him and was kind of begging him to just shut up about the Egyptian gods for 5 minutes.
