Peoria Arts Ed

The traveling troupe, performed selections from several of Shakespeare’s most famous plays including “Romeo and Juliet”, A Midsummers Night Dream”, and “MacBeth”. for our @PeoriaUnified11 students. thank you to @gccaz Glendale Community College!

Over 100 @PeoriaUnified11 @LibertyHSLions Performing Arts, English, & Literature students had the pleasure of attending a Shakespeare performance by the Glendale Community College Theatre Department.

A huge thank you to these incredible @PeoriaUnified11 students, Dr. Bookhout, accompanist Ms. Kyhn, and our High School choral directors, Ms. Boehme, Ms. Goodnight-Bell, Ms. Tucker, Ms. Gonzalez, Ms. Huizenga, Mr. Hutter and Mr. Shafer!

Late last week, choral students from each @PeoriaUnified11 High Schools came together to sing as the High School Honor Choir, under the guest direction of Dr. Thomas Bookhout. The group performed a beautiful concert Thursday evening showcasing their skill & passion!

It was a full house in the @LibertyHSLions Theater for Friday's matinee of the Adams Family! The Liberty HS Theatre troupe hosted 500 + Elem. school students from their @PeoriaUnified11 feeder campuses. The cast and the crew were outstanding! Looking forward to the next show!

the @PeoriaPanthers Encore Choir was awarded an Excellent with Distinction at the ACE Choral Festival! They performed 3 pieces for Clinicians & sight reading (reading music for the first time without teacher assistance). Excellent job representing our school and learned so much!

Congratulations to the @LibertyHSLions Chamber Choir 8 on earning a Superior with Distinction rating at the 2024 ACE Fall Choral Festival on October 25, at Pinnacle High School. The choir earned a score of 28/30 in sight-reading to earn the "with Distinction" caption.

It was a great Thursday & Friday evening as @ApacheElem & @FoothillsEl 3rd & 4th graders, had the opportunity to be part of the @BalletArizona performance of Ballet Under the Stars Wonderful to see the next generation of @peoriaunified11 dancers being inspired on stage

A Special thank you, @PeoriaAZ and the @GlendaleAZ for the support to bring @BalletArizona out and to share the opportunity to rehearse & experience dance for our students in @peoriaunified11

Come see our students in action at Ballet Under the Stars this week! In collaboration with the City of Peoria, students from @ApacheElem School & @FoothillsEl School had the opportunity to work with Ballet Arizona to create a dance & will now perform it, free to the community.

Arts in Education week 🎉 Sundance Artists are studying Paul Klee and Vincent Van Gogh, and are creating art for our 'Glow Up the Night Festival' happening this October!

Students who take 4 years of arts & music classes while in high school scored an avg. of 100 pts higher on their SATs than students who took one half year or less. #BecauseOfArtsEd we have 36,000 @PeoriaUnified11 students that have access to the Arts K-12!

The Arts teach children that problems can have MORE than ONE solution and that questions can have more than one answer. #BecauseOfArtsEd all 36,000 @PeoriaUnified11 students have opportunities to learn & grow through the Arts and are prepared to shape tomorrow!

The Arts are an essential part of a complete education for @PeoriaUnified11 students of all ages & they benefit from artistic learning, innovative thinking & creativity. Celebrating Arts in Education Week Sept. 8th-14th recognizes the impact w/leaders, families & our community.

Our mentors led our new teachers in sessions, including one on lesson planning. This session featured a model lesson that introduced the "marigold effect," emphasizing both the key elements of a lesson plan and the importance of finding people who support your growth. 🧡
