Today, January 14, marks the celebration of Thai Pongal, a Tamil harvest festival. Overflowing rice, or pongal, symbolizes abundance and prosperity. This harvest festival, akin to Canadian Thanksgiving, gives thanks to the sun and other natural elements for a good harvest. @tdsb
