States, international cooperation, and civil society organizations contributed to #ERISE, an @OITAmericas strategy designed to strengthen and connect refugee and migrant skills with labor market opportunities in the region.

The space brought together 🇨🇴 🇨🇱 🇧🇷 🇵🇪, pioneers in policies enabling refugee & migrant integration, with the valuable participation of @OAS_official — a true example of regional cooperation in action.

As @pacuhr, I represented civil society in the #QuitoProcess panel on regularization alongside @CancilleriaEc, @OIMEcuador & @MinTrabajoEc . Throughout a 3-day journey, I shared how civil society helps shape joint responses for refugees and migrants across the region.

En chile, durante la conmemoración de #Cartagena40 me encontré con @FedericoAgusti. Me llena de mucha alegría ver todas las estrategias innovadoras que se están implementando en @ACNUREcuador para el bienestar de las personas refugiadas.

Refugee-led organizations, civil society, and academia highlighted the importance of establishing a follow-up mechanism for the next 10 years. This mechanism should include all the actors who contributed to the design of the Declaration and Chile Action Plan 2024-2034.

I had the immense honor to meet Sister Rosita, the 2024 UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award. She continues her nearly 40-year journey defending the rights of refugees and migrants in Brazil. Her work inspires all sectors to continue working together for the benefit of human rights.

#Cartagena40 represents a milestone in the exercise of the right to asylum and refuge in Latin America and the Caribbean. After 4 decades, refugees finally sat at the decision-making table to be part of the responses to their needs. Below is a bit more about my experience:
