What if we could finally simulate some of the most complex molecules out there? 🚀✨ Today, some essential molecules remain a mystery, because the information required to simulate them precisely grows faster than classical computers could ever compute. 🌀🧮 That’s where quantum computing comes in. ⚛️🖥️ Yet, we must first build and scale quantum computers powerful enough to run the algorithm… 📝 In our latest resource estimation, we show that cat qubits could simulate two of quantum chemistry’s benchmark problems, P450 and FeMoco, with far fewer physical qubits than other superconducting architectures. 🐈 🔍 Fewer qubits doesn’t just mean more efficient machines, it could make impactful, large-scale quantum chemistry applications a reality sooner. 🎨 See our infographic below for an explainer. ✍️ Read our latest blogpost for a deep-dive: 👉 alice-bob.com/blog/cats-for-… And this is just the start… we expect to bring down this estimate even further soon. 👀 Stay tuned! #QuantumComputing #QuantumChemistry #Innovation #CatQubits

Superconducting tech just reached Nobel Prize status! 🏅 John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret, and John M. Martinis, the founding fathers of superconducting circuits, have been awarded The 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics! 🌟 Their pioneering experiments have made today’s quantum computers possible, proving that quantum mechanical effects like tunnelling and quantized energy can be applied to macroscopic systems. ⚡ Their work started it all, not only paving the way for using superconducting circuits to build quantum computers, but showing that electrical circuits in general could be quantum devices, creating a profound impact on our field. 🔬 We’re proud that John M. Martinis is a scientific advisor at Alice & Bob, while Michel H. Devoret, who advised Alice & Bob in our early days, co-founded the Quantum Electronics Group at @ENS_ULM in the late 2000s, alongside @BHuard_Lyon — the very group that would give birth to Alice & Bob a few years later.💡 Devoret also co-invented the cat qubit, the foundation of our approach at Alice & Bob. 🐱 This recognition celebrates the impact of superconducting technology on our understanding of quantum physics, and its promise for turning practical quantum computing into a reality. ⚛️💻 A huge congratulations to Clarke, Devoret, and Martinis for their immense contributions. An inspiring day for our field! 👏 #NobelPrize2025 #Physics #QuantumComputing

The latest from the lab, just preliminary results, but they're juicy...🛡🐾 Everything is in our blogpost linked below! Last year we achieved a bit-flip lifetime of over 7 minutes, the longest in the world for superconducting qubits. Since then, we’ve been optimizing our cats to make them even more robust and stable. 📊💪 And now, in our latest experiment, we record experimental data extending their bit-flip resistance far beyond established results: cat qubits can go over one whole hour without bit flips! 🛡⚡ These results were gathered on our latest cat qubit design, the same used in our flagship 12-qubit chip, Helium. 🐈⚛️🖥️ In parallel, we are working on maintaining similar performance during a two-qubit gate, a critical element for our upcoming phase-flip error correction experiment. 🚀 Stay tuned! On bit-flip lifetime alone, these results already surpass our 13-minute target for idle bit-flips on our 2030 fault-tolerant QPU, Graphene. 🙌 Phase flips, you're next. 😉 For the researchers and the curious, dive into our methods and results in our latest blogpost: 👉 alice-bob.com/blog/just-out-… A promising milestone, huge congrats to the Tiger Team at Alice & Bob! 🐅🏆

⚛️ ⚡Quantum will accelerate HPC by unlocking discoveries beyond the largest classical supercomputers we could ever conceive of. But adopting it will be fundamentally different from past accelerators. 📖 Our new report with @HGPResearch explores what’s ahead: early fault-tolerant quantum computing (eFTQC), and what this means for high-performance quantum computing. 🖥️ Why now? By the end of the decade, we’ll see the first useful quantum computers, but integrating them won’t be plug-and-play. It will require deep collaboration between HPC and quantum teams, from designing application workflows to evolving the software stack, to build these hybrid quantum-classical systems. 📐🤝 📝 In our latest blog, we distill the key takeaways from the report, and share future directions: 👉 alice-bob.com/blog/beyond-mo… 🔑 This report goes beyond perspectives, giving practical steps that HPC centers can take to start preparing for eFTQC now. 👉 Read the report: alice-bob.com/wp-content/upl… #HPC #QuantumComputing #Science #Report

🚀 Time for a new home for our cats: we’re building a €50M quantum lab in Paris! 🔬 Until now, we were focused on mastering the cat qubit. 🐱 We spent years studying its physics, doing the foundational work to make sure the single cat qubit worked exactly as we intended. Now comes the next logical step in our journey: turning that research into a powerful product, a useful quantum computer. Backed by our €100M Series B fundraising, we’re building a 4000m² product development lab to scale our technology, and bring it to the world. 💫 This is where we’ll brew the next generations of our cat qubit chips: Lithium, Beryllium, and finally, Graphene, our 100-logical-qubit quantum computer, planned for 2030. ⚛️🖥️ To bring this lab to life, we’re teaming up with the best: cryogenics leader @BlueFors_Ltd and quantum control electronics experts @QuantumQM. ✨ Our lab will feature: 🔹 A state-of-the-art nano-fabrication clean room to test and create our most powerful chips. 🔹 A cryostat farm 🧊 with space for 20 Bluefors dilution refrigerators, enabling us to test multi-qubit systems. This will be one of the largest quantum labs in Europe 🇪🇺, a pivotal step in making industrial-grade quantum technology a reality. 💪⚡ We’ve got the Alice & Bob dream team, soon we’ll have the lab to match our ambitions. Now let’s build the future. 📚 For more on our plans, check out our roadmap: alice-bob.com/roadmap/ 🗒️ Read the press release: alice-bob.com/newsroom/alice… Big thanks to all our Series B investors - led by Future French Champions, AVP, @Bpifrance - and to @BreegaVC, @Elaia_Partners , @EUeic, @innovacomvc, @iledefrance Fonds Île de France Réindustrialisation, and @SNovaVentures. 🙌 #QuantumComputing #FaultTolerantQuantumComputing #QuantumLab

🚀 A new trick for speeding up quantum factoring (aka breaking encryption)? A new paper just came out showing how to significantly speed up Shor’s algorithm, the famous quantum algorithm that kicked off the field over 30 years ago. 🧪 They introduce the idea of “optimistic quantum circuits”, quantum circuits designed to work accurately most of the time, which can be enough for some tasks. Applying this concept to the Quantum Fourier Transform (QFT), this new research finds a way to approximate the QFT with a smaller circuit. 📚 For context: the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) was one of the most important breakthroughs in classical computing, powering everything from signal processing to data compression. Its quantum version, the Quantum Fourier Transform (QFT), plays a key role in algorithms like Shor’s or quantum phase estimation. 🤔 But... should we get excited yet? ⚙️ The article introduces the algorithm and its asymptotic complexity, but more work is required to make it practical and have precise estimation of the resources it requires to run. ⚠️ The actual gains depend on having access to certain quantum resources (like cheap magic states), something that we’re still working toward. 🧠 Bottom line: Not a directly usable algorithm, but a smart idea that might change the way we design quantum algorithms, and that proves we can still make progress on algorithms people have studied for decades. ✨ If there’s one takeaway: quantum computing moves fast. A single breakthrough can shorten roadmaps overnight. And that’s what makes it so exciting. For the specialists following us, here's the paper in question: 👉 arxiv.org/abs/2505.00701 #QuantumComputing #ShorsAlgorithm #QFT #QuantumAlgorithms #Innovation

⚡ Alice & Bob’s CEO @PeronninTheau joined @nvidia's Jensen Huang and other quantum leaders on stage yesterday at #GTC25! ⚛️ 🤝 This seminal panel brought together top voices from our field to tackle the biggest questions from timelines to impact to the road ahead. 🌎  Our top takeaways ⬇️ 🔷 Finding breakthrough applications will be key. The first wave will most likely come in areas like chemistry and materials science, where quantum can tackle problems classical computers can’t. But these are not a given. As Théau Peronnin said, developing new quantum algorithms and improving hardware will be crucial in making these happen. 🔷 Different approaches, same endgame.🎯 Each quantum method has its trade-offs, but everyone agreed on the key ingredients for success. Speed, scalability and, above all, error correction will be the things that make the difference. At Alice & Bob, we're laser-focused on all three to achieve our goal of scientific utility by the end of the decade 🔬 🔷 Quantum computing is a journey. Quantum today was compared to the early days of classical computing, NVIDIA back in the 2000s, and even the space race. 👨‍🚀 But useful applications are moving closer. With our hardware-efficient cat qubits, we plan to bring the first impactful use cases with 200x fewer physical qubits! 🚀 Read our roadmap: #whitepaper-think-inside-the-box" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">alice-bob.com/roadmap/#white… And if we’re sure of one thing, it’s that the journey is worth it. Just ask Jensen Huang, who announced Nvidia’s investment in integrating their GPUs with future quantum computers! 🖥️  Huge thanks to Jensen Huang and #GTC25 for having us. We hope to be back to continue the conversation next year! 🎙️ D-Wave, Atom Computing, SEEQC, Microsoft, Pasqal, Infleqtion, PsiQuantum, IonQ, Quantinuum, Quantum Circuits, Inc., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Rigetti Computing. #GTC25 #nvidia #quantumcomputing

Amazon (@awscloud) just announced their first quantum chip, Ocelot 👀, and we know you've been waiting for your Alice & Bob digest 😏 🔎 …Let's see how it compares to our technology. // 01. PURE vs HYBRID AWS also uses cat qubits, but with a twist: they pair them with transmons. Cats store the information, transmons handle error correction. 🐱 // 02. THE TRADE-OFF Cat qubits resist bit-flip errors by injecting photons, this is their superpower 💎. But pairing them with transmons weakens this protection. On the flip side, transmons are a more mature technology, helping AWS build larger chips faster. 🏗️ // 03. DIFFERENT ROADMAPS Our error-correction strategy is different. AWS’s hybrid approach still needs to correct both bit-flip & phase-flip errors. With our pure-cat approach, we aim to eliminate bit-flips, meaning we’d need about ten times fewer qubits than AWS to run useful quantum algorithms. ⚡ Curious? Check out Alice & Bob's roadmap: 👉 alice-bob.com/roadmap/ That said, AWS’s achievement is impressive! They demonstrated error correction on cat qubits. Google’s latest Willow chip had a 10x lower error rate, but AWS used 5x fewer qubits, a major step toward scalable quantum computing. 💡 Exciting times ahead. 🚀 #research #physics #quantumcomputing #AWS

Did you know about Dynamiqs? 🤔 Dynamiqs is a GPU-accelerated library for the differentiable simulation of quantum systems. In Python. And open-source. 🐍 At Alice & Bob, we build quantum computers 💻⚛️and their fundamental building blocks: qubits. But before stepping into the lab to stick tabs of superconducting metal onto sheets of sapphire, we study them through advanced quantum simulations. It’s something we do all the time. 🔬 However, simulating quantum systems is no easy task. 😓 Any physicist is familiar with the frustration of waiting for a simulation to finish while their coffee grows colder ☕️, colleagues head off and come back from lunch 🍽️, and their entire career flashes before their eyes. Simulating the time evolution of quantum systems is notoriously challenging. As system dimensions grow into the hundreds or input sweeps multiply, conventional methods quickly hit a wall. 🧱 That’s why we created Dynamiqs with the help of @USherbrooke, @Yale, @Inria, @Mines_Paris, and @ENS_ULM. Dynamiqs is an open-source Python library for simulating quantum time dynamics. By leveraging @nvidia's GPU acceleration, Dynamiqs is up to 60x faster than vanilla QuTiP for certain problems. ⚡️ It also offers powerful features like: - Differentiability ⭐️ - Batching support ⚒️ - Seamless compatibility with the Google JAX ecosystem 🤝 Ready to take your quantum simulations to the next level? 👉Read our blogpost: bit.ly/4fRfPn2 👉Check out Dynamiqs on GitHub: bit.ly/3YTe01X 👉Explore the documentation and get started: bit.ly/3Oh49yk #Python #OpenSource #QuantumComputing #GPUs
