@NCFootballNews Frmr D2FB parent & D1 xfer-seen both levels up close. Lots of thoughts on this but D2 is quality football. Coaching matters. Stars stand out. Game days are more personal and engaging. Individual players have similar speed/skills, depth and overall size, esp OL/DL is only diff.

@NCFootballNews @TheHerdBros Love AQ bids for this reason. Conference Champ should matter. That makes the Reg season matter. 10 out of 24 teams leaves PLENTY (too much imo) of room for "selections". 16 w/ no byes is the right number, maximizes opportunity and quality, ensures fairness.

Giving all 10 conference champs an auto-bid levels up all of FBS because title races in the Sun Belt, C-USA, Mountain West will matter more to the casual fan. It's a total win! Can understand why the P4 schools want all the bids for themselves, though. They're all trying to keep up in a runaway arms race (that they, frankly, created). They still need more money, inexplicably. It's why the NCAA basketball tournament is expanding, too. Billions in TV revenue still isn't enough. Gotta have more, more, more.

A 24-team playoff in itself does not devalue the regular season. The right 24-team model will elevate ALL of College Football. Giving 22 P4 teams an auto spot in a 24-team playoff is what devalues the regular season, especially for the B1G & SEC.
