@AGlubbable alright my bad, didn't know duels and gifts were paid only so yeah it's worse lol My point for VRChat is that the community comes second now, what they care about is money and nothing else. It's just a business now.

@PersonVRC There's three hats, all of them you spend money on, 2 entirely beneficial to Valve while they allow a share on the 3rd for map creators. Plus isn't that the entire point you are making about VRChat leaderboards?

@AGlubbable So you're calling supporting community-made content "wasting money" ? The difference is that VRChat is just profiting themselves, even if you make a donation system in your world.

@PersonVRC My point was that Valve had daily leaderboards for wasting money years before VRChat was even a thing.

@MordredVR A monopoly is when a company makes sure to be the only one doing what they're doing, not that it offers you to spend money easily.

@PersonVRC An actual example of modern day monopolies would be Disney or Amazon. This is a f2p social platform where it’s just a choice if you spend your money and can be used entirely for free, the reward you get for spending money is entirely cosmetic. I think this is a heavy overreaction

@MordredVR The point of badges is that when an alternative comes up, you're like "wait I have badges here, I am special, I'm an OG, why would I go somewhere else ?" and being able to flex that you were here before of you've spent that much money on gifts and VRC+ makes you wanna spend more.

@PersonVRC It was done twice before last year, and a portion of the money goes to a charity. TransLife was the 1st charity last June. But the remainder goes back to support the game.

Let's talk about the leaderboard again shall we ? The reason they implemented that is that, last time they had a leaderboard, they made around 130000$ with the top 10 alone. They have made around 150000$ with the current top 100 compared to 52000$ without, a 100000$ profit.

"Third Person: get it before anyone else!" You just need to change a setting. This is a complete lie, this is a scam.

Okay people didn't get my point so I'll explain it: ..on top of all of the many Dark Patterns they have implemented, they make another one because they realize it makes them a lot of money. The problem is the accumulation of stuff like that, I'll make a list in the comments.
