When brain refuses to start a task, try the "5-minute fake-out." Tell yourself you're only doing it for 5 minutes — then actually stop if you want to. The ADHD brain resists starting, not continuing. Once dopamine kicks in from momentum, stopping becomes the harder part. #ADHDTip

The "just start for 2 minutes" rule. Don't aim to finish the task. Just open it. Just start. Your ADHD brain resists beginning — not doing. Once you're in, momentum kicks in. 2 minutes. That's all you're committing to. #ADHD

Create a specific playlist you only listen to when working. Over time, your brain starts to associate that music with focus — it becomes a Pavlovian cue that signals "time to concentrate."Why it works: Dopamine-driven brains respond strongly to auditory stimulation. #ADHD

Why it works: Dopamine-driven brains respond strongly to auditory stimulation. Consistent music cues help regulate arousal and reduce the need to seek novelty elsewhere (aka getting distracted). Try it: Instrumental music, lo-fi beats, or brown noise tend to work best #ADHDBrain

The ADHD nervous system is driven by urgency and interest, not importance. Manufactured time pressure triggers the same neurological activation as a real deadline.Pair it with a visible countdown timer so the ticking creates a constant, low-level pressure signal.#ADHDProductivity

Your brain screams“I’ll do it later”then ghosts the task forever Set“Social Deadline.”Text a friend“By7pmI’ll send you a pic of [task done]”External accountability=instant dopamine+momentum. No friend? Post it publicly, tell your group chat. Works stupidly well. #ADHD
