Paste this in the box: -d3d11 -FeatureLevelEs31 Launch your game you’re now on Legacy Performance Mode. (Note) It will still show the new performance mode in your Fortnite graphics settings, but you’ll actually be on Legacy Performance Mode.

Just tweaked a client whose monitor was plugged into the motherboard, not his GPU. This means his 4080 wasn’t rendering anything, everything ran on the CPU’s iGPU. Please do not make this mistake. You’re killing all your performance if you do.

Your GPU might be running at half its PCIe bandwidth costing you a major fps loss. Most motherboards, especially B series or micro ATX default the top PCIe slot to x8 instead of x16, even if your GPU is physically x16 and PCIe 4.0/5.0 capable. That’s a 50% reduction in link bandwidth. How to check Download GPU Z Look at Bus Interface. If it’s below your card’s maximum your GPU isn’t fully utilized. Fix⬇️ Manually set PCIe Gen4/5 in BIOS if supported. Ensure the slot isn’t sharing lanes with M.2 or other peripherals. Use a motherboard that provides full x16 electrical lanes for high-bandwidth workloads.

If you don’t increase tREFI from Its stock value, you’re leaving memory performance on the table. tREFI controls how often DRAM rows are refreshed. Stock JEDEC values are conservative to ensure stability under worst case conditions but each refresh temporarily blocks memory access adding latency. Raising tREFI to 32767 reduces refresh frequency, freeing memory cycles lowering effective latency, and improving bandwidth especially in memory sensitive workloads. This value hits a practical balance aggressive enough to gain measurable performance, yet still safe for typical cooling and DIMM quality.
