🏃‍♂️🇵🇪 Running for a cause at the @LondonMarathon We are proud to share that members of the Embassy of Peru took part in the #LondonMarathon2026, joining thousands of runners in one of the world’s most iconic races. Beyond the 26.2-mile (42 km) challenge, both participants ran in support of charitable causes, raising awareness and helping to raise funds for people seeking safety and dignity. The London Marathon is not only a major sporting event, but also one of the largest annual fundraising initiatives worldwide. Strengthening ties with Northern Ireland 🇵🇪🇬🇧 During his visit to Northern Ireland, Ambassador Ignacio Higueras held meetings with the Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Edwin Poots and the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Tracy Kelly (@niassembly), and had a fruitful conversation with the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Michelle O’Neill (@moneillsf), highlighting the importance of strengthening ties between Peru and Northern Ireland at both institutional and community levels 🇵🇪🇬🇧 Discussions focused on opportunities in trade, innovation, and education, as well as future cooperation in infrastructure and sustainable development. A great moment to celebrate friendship, shared values, and new connections that bring our communities closer together across the seas 🤝🌎✨

#PaddingtonTheMusical triumphs at the @OlivierAwards 🐻✨ 🇵🇪✨ The Embassy of Peru warmly congratulates #PaddingtonTheMusical on its extraordinary success at the #2026OlivierAwards, where it won an outstanding seven awards. Among its many accolades, the production received #BestNewMusical, #BestDirector (Luke Sheppard), and #BestActorinaMusical (James Hameed & Arti Shah), jointly awarded to the performers bringing Paddington to life on stage. It also earned recognition in supporting actor and actress categories, costume design and set design, highlighting the strength of the entire creative team. We would like to extend a special mention to the performer portraying Paddington on stage, whose work, together with the voice performance, has been central to bringing this beloved character to life for audiences in such a moving and memorable way. We are truly delighted to see our beloved @paddingtonbear , whose story begins in Peru, continue to inspire audiences around the world with messages of kindness, inclusion and hope. I LATAC-UK Infrastructure Forum 🇵🇪 🇬🇧 🌎 It is with great enthusiasm that the Embassy of Peru in the United Kingdom participated in the I LATAC-United Kingdom Infrastructure Forum, organised by the British Embassy in Peru (@ukinperu). The event in Lima brought together key leaders from Peru, the UK, and eight Latin American and Caribbean countries. The forum provided a valuable space to reflect on the impact of infrastructure on regional development, its role in benefiting our societies, and to highlight the close collaboration between Peru and the UK over nearly a decade 🇵🇪🤝🇬🇧. Thanks to this partnership, schools, hospitals, and high-standard infrastructure projects have been delivered, positively impacting thousands of Peruvians 🏗️🏨. Together, we remain committed to closing infrastructure gaps and driving sustainable development 💪✨.

🎭 Hamlet Around the World: Peruvian talent on stage across the UK 🎭🇵🇪🇬🇧 It was a true pleasure for Ambassador Ignacio Higueras to meet and welcome @teatrolaplaza during their time in the UK, where they shared their powerful and moving production of Hamlet with audiences across the country. From their participation at the Edinburgh International Festival (@edintfest), to performances at the Barbican Centre(@BarbicanCentre), and their time in Brighton, their work resonated deeply, opening spaces for reflection, dialogue, and inclusion. In the spirit of #WorldDownSyndromeDay, recently marked on 21 March, we celebrate the transformative power of the arts to challenge perceptions and amplify voices. Through their reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, eight actors with Down syndrome turned “To be or not to be” into a powerful call against prejudice. Their extraordinary journey, spanning more than 50 cities across five continents, is now captured in the documentary short #HamletAroundtheWorld, a testament to courage, talent, and the universal language of theatre. ✨Ambassador Higueras joined virtually the JDI Signing Ceremony 🌳🇵🇪✨ Peru strengthens the protection of Amazon forests with the signing of the Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) with Germany, Norway, and the United Kingdom. The heads of @midagriperu, @MinamPeru, and @MinCulturaPe signed the document at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Foreign Minister Hugo de Zela as witness of honor, alongside the ambassadors of the cooperating countries.

🕊️ In memory of Delicia Milka Franco Ahuanari We are deeply saddened by her passing. It was an honour to have met her and to witness her artistry and professionalism during the exhibition Ayahuasca & Art of the Amazon at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (@SainsburyCentre) in September 2024. Through her work, she gave powerful voice to Amazonian identity, memory, and resilience. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and to the Shipibo-Konibo and artistic communities. Her legacy will endure. 🇵🇪

Ambassador Ignacio Higueras, in his capacity as Honorific Chair of the Paracas Bay Landing, took part in this meaningful occasion, reaffirming the deep historic ties that unite our countries and the enduring spirit of cooperation that continues to guide us today.
