The step regression of the UK's underclass is just so depressing. I am 51 and as a football obsessed kid in the late 70s, 80s and 90s, I witnessed a clear reduction in the racist bullshit in football. Genuine, serious progression. Now, I'm not naive enough to think that the racists went away or changed their views, but it became an unacceptable trait within the game and things changed so much for the better. Now, in 2026, with the rise of Reform UK and Ruprecht's Restore, we see these vile characters, openly espousing racism again. Taking pride in their bigotry. ☹️ Where did we go so wrong, as a nation?

What’s the point in a ‘national’ football team if someone who is NOT from that nation can join? Maguire should play for England. Guéh should play for Ivory Coast. Common sense. I’m sure Maguire isn’t even allowed to contest this decision because, as his shirt says in the photo below, ‘no room for racism’.

@rebekkarnold If you're starting Rice which is pretty much a given you need a good destroyer next to him which Wharton isn't. Rice has a lot of good qualities but if you don't have someone mopping up the gaps he leaves you end up exposed.

You have an outrageously ignorant view of SA's department of health and in particular the NICD. We have previously implemented port health screenings, monitoring of traveller's and isolation of prospective travellers. We are basically completely aligned with International Health Regulation Practices. We have had a 4-point plan in the event of a potential outbreak for some years. This extends beyond SA to the rest of Southern Africa. The last and only confirmed case of Ebola in SA was during November 1996, a nurse returning from Gabon. Ebola-free for nearly 30 years, Alex. Not even the US can claim that kind of record. Do you think we achieved this by accident? People who underestimate SA without any knowledge of our resources and infrastructure really can fuck themselves at this point.
