@dbuckedu Like how you put this. I think academia too often mixes up science rigor and argumentation with teaching and learning, and we approach each other in the classroom with critique and competition. When learning instead needs compassion, empathy and deliberative conversation.

Bootcamp yesterday with course coordinators at WISER-project @HogskolanSkovde with @jkaronen69 and collagues. Prepared and rehearsed, but when it all comes down its about listening, conversation and sharing. WISERs gonna fly!

I tried out #UnGrading for the first time this semester. It was something I had wanted to do for awhile but some learning with @Jessifer and @HDSB_TheShift pushed me over the edge.
We used portfolios and interviews to co-construct marks with our Grade 9 Math students.

At #swednet seminar I noted that academia is a "culture of critique". Yes, and of necessity due to science values and epistemological grounds. But academia has a problem where this rigor is unreflected copied onto teaching and learning approach.
