Been away for a while but going to make an effort to regularly post from now now.

The only time of year when u can drive down a street & see jack-o-lanterns, inflatable turkeys, & xmas lights on the same block. Oddly cool.

I think I want to start a podcast 2 discuss not just ASD but also larger issues. Would anyone listen?

It is about the development of a cohort of skills that work together to promote "competence" which is difference from skill mastery.

It's not the skill but the use of the skill. It's not simple linguistic skills but the use of language in a useful way.

So what we need, and I am not exaggerating here, is a Manhattan Project type approach to interventions for teens and adults with ASD

New report documenting the poor outcomes and limited research base re: adolescents/adults with ASD is interesting but not surprising.

This month in Pasadena, CA (9/17&18) speaking on employment and at the University of MD (9/20-21) on transition and 1/2 day on sexuality.

School back in session and very excited. Some much potential, so little time. Still, no guts no glory.

Interesting autism piece on 8/26 Op/Ed section of NY Times. Just wish it was in Tuesday's science section w citations but, well, not 2 b

Break coming up. Means I have time to finish a sexuality article and an employment chapter. Whether I actually do that is another question.

Had a great conversation about autism, game theory & behavioral economics intersecting in complex but usable ways. Still stuck on complex.

Spoke on Saturday at Autism Speaks National Conference. Was quite impressed with line up of speakers & conference overall. Kudos to AS!
