@BrandonFugal @TheCinesthetic Goldsmith was a gift. His music elevated so many films. Him, Williams and Horner were on fire in the 80’s. Trevor Jones had some gems too. What a decade for film. 🎬🎼

40 years ago today: Highlander (1986) hit theaters. Still think it's a masterpiece with the single greatest soundtrack in film history (fight me). My wife & I agree on almost everything… except this movie. One of us is right. The other is her ;) Proud owner of some serious artifacts: the MacLeod/Ramirez sword (screen-used by Connery & Lambert), Kurgan's sword & costume (Clancy Brown!), original concept art. These are pieces of immortality. There can be only one. Who wants to live forever? ⚔️🔥

It’s always fun to be surprised. Got a call from a producer I know well… and instead of asking about writing, he asked if I’d like to voice an animated character for his new series, something I used to do but haven’t for years. Sounds like fun to me.

My films (to date). For every film below, several others never came to fruition, for one reason or another. Alas, the life of a creative:) Hoping to add new titles soon. Half a dozen features (and one limited series) currently in development, here in the US and abroad. 🎬

That's a wrap! I've been MIA lately thanks to being on a couple of projects. The last two weeks I spent directing a spec comedy TV Pilot. It was a blast. Can't wait for the next time!

Rewatching Band of Brothers. And yes, filming specifications have moved on as have effects, but dear God, the acting is sublime. Damian Lewis in this is an absolute bloody master.

Today is my beautiful Mom’s heavenly birthday. I miss her everyday. Today is hard. The sadness never wanes. I look at old pictures of us and realize I laughed the hardest with her. I’ve never laughed that hard since. I laugh. I love to laugh. It’s medicine. But seeing that one woman who made me laughed the hardest makes me realize that she was pure Magic. I didn’t recognize it while she was here. That’s something that is painful to acknowledge and accept.. My relationship with her is different now, but just as powerful. I talk to her constantly. I feel her with me. My love for her is still physical. That is a gift. Happy Birthday Mom. You are and will forever be Everything.

Today was a hard day… my physical battle began the second I got hurt but the mental battle started today. It hit me like a ton of bricks. It’s a battle I’m used to because I’ve done it so many times. I have always learned from every injury. Each one has made me a better and stronger person in different ways… but the battle of the mind can be dark and hard and unrelenting. Someone I care about said I am a “master at the psychological game of life…” I don’t know if that’s true…. I do know hard days are coming but I will find a way back to the top of the mountain of life.

I’m an artist. I like to create, even outside the world of film. We’ve been enjoying family paint nights lately. I recommend it. Quality time together. I have no idea what I’m doing, but I just go with it. Bob Ross would approve I think. 🤣🎨🎄☃️❄️
