When I was living in South Korea a decade ago, there was an infamous incident involving an heiress to the family behind Korean Airlines. After getting into her first class seat, a steward handed her a bag of nuts. She immediately flipped out on him, as she thought the nuts should be warmed & served in a dish. She tried ejecting the steward from the plane, making such a scene that the flight was ultimately delayed 20 minutes. The incident became public, the media quickly dubbing it “Nutgate.” I remember when the heiress, Heather Cho, returned to Korea and apologized to the whole nation, hanging her head in shame (what you see below). Cho ultimately resigned from one of her several executive positions at Korean Air & was subsequently found guilty in a South Korean court of obstructing aviation safety and given a twelve-month prison sentence, of which she served five months. I bring this up because … I can’t shake the feeling her behavior wasn’t quite as bad as what we’re seeing in the Epstein Files.

This was called a terrorist attack a little over 24 years ago. The United States invoked Article 5, and every ally, including Ukraine, showed up to fight an American war without hesitation. Now the same thing is happening in Ukraine. Russian drones are deliberately flown into high rise apartment buildings, and suddenly it is dismissed. “Not our war.” “Go pick up a rifle if you care.” “You support Ukronazis.” The moral clarity evaporates the moment Americans are not the ones being bombed.

Working today on a very busy shift at St George's A&E. This Christmas and New Years there will be many NHS staff, doctors, nurses, porters and others, working tirelessly to save lives.

Does it ever just hit you like a semi truck full of bricks that... this is life now? This has been life for 6 years & it hasn't gotten any easier & in many ways it just keeps getting harder? The light at the end of the tunnel is not there? Because same. I'm just so tired.

There is no “mystery illness” going around, it’s likely Covid, and if it’s not, it’s the flu or a common cold but it’s kicking your butt because after 6 years of getting Covid repeatedly, your immune system is shot and everything you catch hits you like a truck.
