We're very excited for Bishop Given's visit over this weekend. You can join us to meet & greet him & Lilian at St P&P on Friday evening or for lunch on Sat at St Phil. Contact the parish office for more details and to sign up to be with us.

We can't wait to welcome Bishop Given & Rev'd Lilian into the parish on Friday and share food & fellowship with them during the weekend @PeterPaulTon. Maybe the next welcome will be from them to us in #Kondoa, who knows?

In our doctrine seminar on the ascension it was mentioned the impossibility of stepping in the same river twice (there isn’t enough characters for me to explain the context of that statement). Cue the Pocahontas classic ‘Just Around the Riverbend’ becoming stuck in my head.

It's been a long 2 years but it was a pleasure to be able to once again host @2520TonATC for their Christmas (not-quite) Carols service and Awards Evening. Well done to the 9 new recruits who were admitted to the corps, and may God help you keep your promise.

There has been much calamity in the world over the last 2 years and doubtless much has impacted us personally. But Christ is coming, and is with us even now by his Spirit. What do you need to look to Christ for today? What cares and worries do you need to lay at his feet?

Rev'd Deryck Charnock spoke to us on Luke 21:25-36 and Jesus' apocalyptic words to his disciples. It's natural for us to be anxious & concerned when calamity comes, but Jesus urges us to be careful, watch ourselves, and look up to our redemption. (vv34, 36 & 28)

Today is #AdventSunday, the beginning of the Church's year. Advent means 'coming' and as we wait for Christmas to arrive, we prepare ourselves not just to recall Christ's first coming, but also that time when he will come again.

Providing people with a cup of tea* is a simple & practical way of serving others, and offers an opportunity to engage in conversation or pray for them. Sometimes it will be one-to-one, other times it might be for crowds. *Other hot beverages are available

Today we had our final service in the #HolyHabits series and service was the focus. Sometimes we can feel ill equipped to serve God & others, but through prayer & Bible reading we can find practical ways to do this. Romans 12:9-16 has many ways we can serve those around us.

Having access to a Bible in language that you can understand is hugely important, but so is having a commentary that helps to explain what you're reading. 📖

What a day it is. Not only is it 1st November, and therefore All Saints' Day, it's also the first Monday of the month which means it's #MissionMonday!

Zacchaeus didn't purchase salvation by giving his possessions to the poor and repaying those he may have cheated - he did these things because of the transformation that salvation brought to his life. Where in your life has salvation brought transformation?

Zacchaeus showed openness by welcoming Jesus into his home. The onlookers were shocked that Jesus would eat with a 'sinner', not realising how closed they were to the reality that they, too, were sinners. Are you open to welcoming those the world looks at as 'sinners'?

This morning Sally Musson spoke on Luke 19:1-10 and the significance of DOT - Determination, Openness & Transformation. Zacchaeus was determined to see Jesus, and Jesus was determined to eat with him. How determined are you to encounter Jesus?

We all know that the last 18 months have been especially tough and looking after ourselves may have sometimes seemed quite difficult, particularly our mental health. This term High Hopes are helping children explore wellbeing through their WellGood series.

It's the first Monday of the month which means it's once again #MissionMonday! At the beginning of this new school year we wanted to share what our friends and partners at High Hopes are getting up to.
