Got a shock today. Rec'd an email from the Agency for Legal Deposits. By UK law, I have to send 6 copies of The Accidental Realmshifter to the British Library. And they want hardcover copies. That's going to cost me 60 quid!

Today we saw this magnificent cloud formation with the sun shining through it when walking on Northam Beach. It was like an explosion in the sky.

I've attended a webinar run by ElevenLabs on how to create an audiobooks using their amazing digital voices. Incredible! So realistic! I'm excited about converting my novels to multi-voice dramas with sound effects and music.

@theAliceRoberts He was the same age as me so it really brings home the fragility of life and how we must make the best of every day. I never met him and yet, somehow, it feels like I've lost a friend.

The fragility of life is so shocking. I’ve known Michael Mosley for many years - as a tv producer specialising in science and medicine. He was the executive producer of my 2009 series Human Journey. When he started presenting as well as producing, we made several science programmes together. And we met up at Hay Festival just 2 weeks ago. I can’t believe he’s gone. My thoughts are with his bereaved family.
