I want to draw attention to what I believe is an unfair practice by SportyBet Nigeria.@SportyBetNG I opened an account with the number 0705 566 1314. I placed my first bet with ₦240,000 on a single selection and lost. I then placed a second bet with ₦230,000 and won ₦713,000. However, when I tried to withdraw my winnings, my withdrawal was blocked. I contacted @SportyBetNG , and they requested that I upload my identification documents and bank statements for all my accounts. I complied and submitted everything they asked for. @SportyBetNG initially gave the impression that the issue would be resolved. Instead, they locked the account containing my ₦713,000 winnings, claiming it was due to a violation of their multiple-account policy. At first, I was willing to accept that explanation. However, they later informed me that they would reopen one of my old accounts so I could continue betting. How does that make sense? You locked the account holding ₦713,000 because of an alleged breach of your multiple-account rules, yet you reopened an account with no funds and allowed me to continue betting. Why don’t we have a strong gaming commission in Nigeria to address concerns like this? So many young people participate in sports betting, yet there seems to be little protection for customers when disputes arise. We are often left at the mercy of these companies. @fccpcnigeria I will attach all the relevant screenshots and evidence on demand. @SportyBetNG
