@aeberman12 @Peter_Strachan Most people ain’t listening: they are buying SOXL and shorting oil on “vibes”. Long may it continue 👍

There is no “successful reopening” of Hormuz that can be cleanly modeled, @Peter_Strachan. Even in the most wildly optimistic scenario, the supply crisis likely doesn’t bottom until November. And that’s just restoring flows. Now factor in production damage, insurance paralysis, refinery disruptions, inventories, and broken supply chains. And please—use real prices, not discounted paper barrels. #Hormuz #oil #energy #Iran #geopolitics #shipping #markets #economy #inflation #LNG #diesel #war

Successful reopening of the SOH could see crude settle at around US$81-$86/bbl. There will be several months of restocking, and some oilfields could take a year to return close to previous production volumes. LNG will remain tight for 2-3 years until facilities are repaired.

@Ussignur_ The Saudis need +US$95/bbl to balance their budget. All good for them!

@DrCraigEmerson It is so racist when Australians want to be able to afford a house! How dare they complain about a comfortable tent!

Australia’s population will pass 28 million in June '26! ( adding 9 million in just 25 years, which was around the entire Australian human population when I was born in 1952). Sadly, the population of koalas has declined dramatically.

@Notmistaken The reason is Australia's rapid, unsustainable population expansion.

Anthony Burke: ‘It won’t be uncommon in 20 years to have four houses sharing one back yard’ theguardian.com/artanddesign/n… What an ugly, stupid idea that ignores the obvious & eminently desirable alternative. Massive reduced immigration. The man's a fool.

The uplift in the working-age population is completely at odds with the federal budget’s NOM forecast, which has historically tracked each other closely

@frankwrighter Here is what happens when population pressures push people into poverty, reducing them to collateral to be bought and sold. If he had fewer children in the first place, he might have been able to feed them all.

@SustPopAus @OSullivan_Jane People moving from temporary to permanent status just means that they don't go home. They are then replaced as more temporary visas are issued, so the population continues to rise by ~8,080 per week, of which 6,000 per week are due to NOM 😒

@PaulH1 The Perdaman Urea Project in the Pilbara aims to produce 2.3 million tonnes of urea annually once completed in mid- 2027. Could (partially) fill a hole. afr.com/companies/manu…
