A quarter of my family story runs through the Murphys of Summerville, P.E.I. Uncle Joe Murphy was humble, kind, courageous and served Canada in WWII with his brothers Albert & Reggie. Before he left in 1940, he wrote a poem. I share it now in honour of all three. 🇨🇦

A wonderful evening at the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown, PEI October 12th. The first time I performed in public was on this very ground circa 1979 or 80. Fast forward 45 yrs and what a thrill to do it again! What a gift to sing with and for my family. #eastcoast #thanksgiving #pei

Sad news receiving the word of the passing of Blair Koughan. To some Blair may have been misunderstood, but to the people that really knew him; he was a kind, hardworking person; someone that I was proud to call a friend. Gonna miss our beers on Churchill ave😢😢#RIPBlair #GI

@AndrewChtown @RobertGhiz Mulroney and Ghiz fought lock step together for Canada at a time in history our confederation needed them most. What pride we had as Islanders to seeing the leading Canadian voice on constitutional affairs be our Premier Joseph A. Ghiz. I still get teary thinking of it.

My condolences to the Mulroney family. Brian was a great friend to my father, Joe, to our Island, and to our country. The Ghiz family thanks him for the bridge, his leadership, and friendship. And I thank him for his sage advice throughout the years.

Because of the Gazette’s insane new early deadlines (blame our Toronto bosses), we weren’t able to get this cartoon into tomorrow’s newspaper. So, would you be kind enough to forward this cartoon to everyone you know –and have them do the same? Thanks, Terry.

At a dark point in my life, he called. I’ll never forget it. His compassion is something I could never repay. There are thousands of people who can say the same today, thousands who are remembering his quiet kindness, his loyalty, his steel. Rest in peace, Mr Mulroney.

Mr. Mulroney was the best PM of our generation. He never feared spending his political capital on issues that were important (GST/FreeTrade/Acid Rain). He always put Canada first and, on the international stage, there was no equal. This is a huge loss for Canada/all Canadians.
