My daughter has hearing loss and she should be able to compete and visual aids should be used by players who need them. I think players sometimes say stuff thinking only of their own opportunities rather than what accessibility means for others.

How are Zero Build players going to get this backbling? Fortnite Arenas Boxfights releases on April 9th and if you win 300 rounds you will be rewarded the Builder's Crest backbling. That is IMPOSSIBLE for ZB players or even employed build players. They could easily come out with a 1v1 or 2v2 ZB game mode as well. Those literally exist as UEFN maps already. Don't you think it's weird that Fortnite constantly shuns the dominate game mode that has kept this game alive for the last 4 years? No one even plays Ranked build anymore. It's over. Pack your bags bud!

Today, it was even harder to get out of bed, and it had me reflecting. As a Community Manager at Epic Games, we did it all. Rocket League was always my priority, but like many of my colleagues, I also worked on Fortnite. So you know @FortniteStatus and @RL_Status, the accounts that escalate and help with your Fortnite and Rocket League bugs, issues, and reports? 🔧 Myself and @CatBlips (who was also impacted by these layoffs) built that entire social support process, team, and workflow from the ground up. Those Twitter/X escalations are ground zero for the Epic Games team. Issues surface on socials first, so we created a system to get them in front of the right people quickly and efficiently. Community helped prioritize urgency, triage reports, provide additional context, and support decisions around what gets patched and how fast. It brings me some comfort knowing that the system is still there for you, the players, making sure your voices are heard. At the same time, it’s a strange feeling to be on the outside now. No longer able to help carry the weight with the team still in the trenches, but I’m proud of what we built, and I know it’ll keep making a difference. 🫶 Please be kind to @FortniteStatus and @RL_Status, there are real people behind those accounts, along with my ex Community teammates who are still showing up every day on the main channels. They’re doing their best to keep everything moving, often under more pressure than you can see. A little patience and kindness goes a long way. ❤️‍🩹

guess who got laid off today! 🫠 i am genuinely so confused and bewildered like, i spent the past week debugging the rivalry system while recovering from pneumonia and just in the past few days i’ve had multiple directors tell me how much they appreciate everything i do

I was impacted by today’s layoffs at Epic. Truly came out of nowhere for me. Right before my birthday, too. I really liked Epic. Really liked the teams. Really liked what we were doing in music. So it’s all a shock. Time to breathe for a minute. Then onward and upward.

I was laid off today. I spent the last 2 years as the only UI Engineer on Festival, implementing new features like Local Multi-player, Festival Menu, Calibration, and new game modes. I dove into focus and input issues, often helping other teams with their issues as well.

I was laid off today after 2 years Epic Games. If you enjoyed the maps in C7S2 or C6S3, The Simpsons mini-season map, or IP collabs like KPOP Demon Hunters, Superman, South Park, Doja Cat, and more, I was the Lead Environment Art and/or Environment Concept Producer for them.

Well, it had to happen at some point. I have just been laid off from #epicgames I really enjoyed my time working there, but it’s time to find my next adventure. If you know of something, just let me know.
