Chief Jason Lando joined families, friends, and colleagues of fallen officers at the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial of Allegheny County on Saturday. The annual ceremony honors those who have lost their lives in the line of duty in Allegheny County.

The Bureau held an awards ceremony on Friday to acknowledge excellence in the line of duty in 2025. From Officer of the Month and Bureau Citations, to the Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart, officers were recognized for outstanding service. Congratulations to all the awardees!

Over 3 days, Public Safety recorded the following: EMS ▪️229 calls for service, 45 hospital transports Police ▪️2 arrests & 1 citation inside Draft area, 17 arrests & 16 non-traffic citations outside the Draft area and Downtown Fire ▪️1 fire response for hot ashes from a grill

Hosting the 2026 NFL Draft was an event close to two years in the making. Public Safety could not be prouder of the results of thousands of hours of meticulous planning, coordination, and work by all our personnel. Despite a record 805,000 visitors, no major incidents occurred.

As we welcomed hundreds of thousands of people to the Draft, our @PghPublicSafety, @PghPolice, @PghEMS, @PghFireFighters, @PittsburghOEMHS, Pittsburgh Crossing Guards and our partners worked day and night —thank you for keeping Pittsburgh safe.

What a beautiful Day 1 of the #NFLDraft  in @Pittsburgh! Public Safety personnel were deployed throughout the event and on the rivers helping to ensure a safe experience for all who attended.

PBP held another successful “Youth Connections” session with students at the Jordan Miles Youth Engagement Center downtown. The program focuses on building strong, positive relationships between officers & youth. The highlight of the day? A surprise visit from our Mounted Unit!

FBI Special Agents, Intelligence Analysts, Surveillance Specialists and Professional Staff will be standing shoulder to shoulder with these partners to share intelligence and mitigate threats. Our mission will be carried out in command posts, on the streets, in the skies and on our rivers. A Temporary Flight Restriction will be in place for 2 nautical miles from draft-related events with severe criminal and civil penalties if you’re found operating a drone. And as always, if you see something suspicious, report it to law enforcement by calling 911, or to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Ahead of the NFL Draft, police and community advocates are collaborating to enhance public safety and combat human trafficking risks that can come with mass gatherings. Eleven PBP personnel completed training to fight human trafficking. Learn more ➡️ bit.ly/41MGWL8
