@alioop326 I don't. In some cases I'm able to enjoy their work while being mindful of what they put into it, but I don't give them money and I will go out of my way to lose them money. In one case I was personally involved so much that it's also ruined it for me.

After giving a talk at a conference recently, I received an email from an unfamiliar senior professor in the audience remarking that my “look has extremely improved over the years” from “nerdy lab mouse” to “a touch of upper class.” 1/4

Incidentally, they called me to follow up on my recent registration as I listed my in laws as my "us address" not realizing I could just stick with my last address. He said what I did also works as I have a valid tie to that address.

I did not say this but investigating those complaints seems like a stunning waste of time and taxpayer dollars but ok.

Someone in the Ohio Secretary of State office told me today that most of the "voter fraud" complaints they handle turn out to be expats who are, legally, voting from their last US residential address. Current residents file because they either don't know or care that it's legal.

A few months ago a “friend” told me that he felt disabled people should be denied access to healthcare so “survival of the fittest” could happen faster. That people like me are the reasons he - a non disabled cishet white man - can’t get ahead. How did we get here? 🧵/1

@The_Sarahnade We just celebrated 3 years of marraige and I'm still crazy about him. Sure there's days when he drives me nuts in a bad way but they are few and far between. Most of the time, he makes me laugh. He makes me brave. He makes me feel loved. Can't ask for more.

I've worked there and I've been a grad student who was pressured not to delay a big milestone like this and I've worked with many grad students who were outright punished for having lives. Fuck literally all the way off with your lukewarm 'she made a choice' takes.

There's a lot of "well I imagine that was her decision" and from someone who's been in a similar position and worked a lot with grad students those people are vastly overestimating the agency grad students, esp minoritized ones, have. Especially at a school like Rutgers. I
