Resettlement of Nigerian Refugees from Bosso, Niger Republic to Malam Fatori Underway In a significant development for displaced persons from Nigeria’s North East, the Borno State Government has commenced the resettlement of Nigerian refugees who had been taking shelter in Bosso, Diffa Region of the Niger Republic. The returnees, originally from Malam Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam Local Government Area in Borno State, began their journey home on 23 April 2025. According to reliable sources and images obtained, the refugees were transported across the boarder from Bosso and Malam Fatori, marking a major milestone in the government’s ongoing effort to restore normalcy to conflict-affected communities. Upon arrival in Malam Fatori, returnees were received by the Abadam Local Government Resettlement Committee, which promptly commenced the distribution of food items and financial assistance. This gesture, described by locals as commendable and reassuring, reflects a sustained commitment by the Borno State Government to support citizens in rebuilding their lives. Photographs taken from within the town show families settling into their designated shelters, unpacking belongings and beginning the process of reintegration after years in displacement. The coordinated return operation is being applauded as a model of orderly resettlement backed by material support and local engagement. In a symbolic moment of unity and spiritual renewal, the returnees observed their first Friday congregational prayers (Jumma’a) in Malam Fatori today 25th April 2025. Videos captured, show men, women and children gathered in prayer alongside local political and traditional leaders of Abadam LGA. This public religious gathering marks the first major communal activity since the return, reinforcing both spiritual and social reconnection within the town.

Joint Nigeria–Niger Airstrikes Rock Lake Chad Region In a bold display of regional cooperation, the Nigerian Air Force in coordination with its Nigerien counterpart, launched a series of joint airstrikes along the Nigeria–Niger border in the Lake Chad region. The operation which lasted over four hours was driven by actionable intelligence provided by Nigerien air surveillance units directing Nigerian aircraft to precise terrorist hideouts. Initial field reports indicate that the airstrikes targeted a suspected terrorist enclave believed to be sheltering a mix of fighters, women and children. The location flagged as a major operational cell, had long been under observation for its suspected role in coordinating cross-border attacks. In the aftermath of the bombardment, more than 50 survivors were reportedly seen fleeing toward the nearby village of Fefewa located in the volatile tri-border area shared by Nigeria, Niger and Chad. Unconfirmed accounts suggest that some of the escapees may have been attempting to regroup with a larger terrorist faction believed to be entrenched in a well-fortified position. These reports are still under verification. Investigations are ongoing and @PhantomEyeHub is actively working to determine the exact casualty figures. This joint operation comes at a critical time, as the region continues to witness a surge in terrorist activity. It underscores the growing resolve of both nations to respond swiftly and decisively to emerging threats along their shared borders.

Clash Between Rival Boko Haram Factions Near Lake Chad Leaves Casualties Reliable intelligence sources confirm that a violent confrontation occurred between two rival factions of terrorists around Lake Chad. The battle involved Boko Harma (JAS), operating from the Niger Republic side of the Lake Chad basin and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), positined near Tumbun Gini in Nigeria’s side of Borno State. The clash erupted around 5:40 PM yesterday 3rd March 2025, in a contested area between Tumbu Mota and Tumbu Marakiriya, located in the southeastern part of Bosso, Diffa Region of Niger, and the northern outskirts of Malam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area, Borno State, Nigeria. This border region, adjacent to the Lake Chad shoreline, is a known hotbed of insurgent activity. Preliminary assessments indicate that at least 20 JAS fighters were killed, while several others sustained injuries. The intensity of the fighting underscores the ongoing factional struggles within Boko Haram, which have persisted since ISWAP broke away from JAS in 2016. Security analysts warn that such internal conflicts, while weakening the groups in the short term, could lead to further instability, with surviving combatants retreating to regroup or intensifying attacks against local communities and security forces. The situation remains fluid, and authorities are monitoring developments closely.

Boko Haram Demands Ransom After Attack on Limburam Village In a violent raid last night 10th January 2025, at approximately 10:14 PM, suspected Boko Haram terrorists stormed Limburam village, south of Dawoun Kaya, near the Komadougou River along the Nigeria-Niger border. During the attack, the insurgents abducted six women, looted shops, and made away with food supplies. They also extorted residents, seizing unspecified amounts of money. In a letter left behind, the attackers demanded a ransom of eight million naira, threatening to transport the abducted women deep into the Lake Chad region if their demands were not met. A meeting was convened outside the village chief’s residence earlier today, where the phone number provided by the terrorists was called. During the conversation, the captors reiterated their demand for ransom to secure the release of the hostages. Witnesses informed Phantom Eye that the terrorists moved the women toward the Nigeria-Niger border near Komadougou, between the villages of Ajeri and Meleri. The area is about a 20-minute walk from Ajeri on foot and lies close to Damasak, Nigeria.
