An amputee cyclist riding through what looks like rural backroads kept pepper spraying dogs that were running toward him during his ride. The video sparked a huge debate online, with some people saying he was protecting himself while others argued the dogs didn’t look aggressive enough to justify being sprayed. What do you think?

Unfortunately, but I choose to ignore it and accept the Old Indy segments from The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles as canon instead. Indy lives into his 90s and gets to tell his children and grandchildren about his adventures. Literally the best ending possible for him.

Does anyone remember that they made a new Indiana Jones movie just 3 years back? Shia Lebouf died in Vietnam and they tried to make Phoebe Waller-Bridge the new Indy. It bombed horribly.

Kit Harington just confirmed that the most expensive character in TV history is now narratively worthless. And nobody's connecting the math. Jon Snow generated an estimated $501 million in HBO subscription revenue based on screen time alone across eight seasons. He appeared in all 73 episodes. He was the emotional center of a franchise that produced $3.1 billion in subscription revenue and $6 billion in profit for Warner between 2015 and 2018. HBO came to Harington and said: build a show around this character. They spent two years trying. Two years of scripts and development on the single most bankable name in prestige television. And the guy who played him for a decade walked away and said "nothing excited us enough." Think about what that means. HBO could not find one story worth telling about the character who carried the most profitable drama in cable history. The reason is sitting right there in the Season 8 finale. Benioff and Weiss wrote Jon into exile beyond the Wall with no political ties, no conflict, no relationships, no unresolved tension, and no source material to pull from. They gave him the narrative equivalent of a closed bank account. Every possible sequel has to start from: man stands in snow with no motivation, no antagonist, and no connection to the world that made people care about him. Now look at what's actually working. House of the Dragon: set 200 years before the finale. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: 100 years before. The Aegon the Conqueror series: even further back. Sea Snake, 10,000 Ships, same direction. Every single surviving Westeros project runs away from Season 8's ending. The one attempt to go forward died in development. 1.7 million people signed a petition to remake that finale. HBO lost over half its 18-49 audience within a year of the show ending. And Benioff and Weiss rushed those final six episodes reportedly because they had a Star Wars deal waiting. They lost the Star Wars deal too. Kit said he looked at photos from Season 8 and saw himself exhausted. He was. Everyone was. The show that averaged 43 million viewers per episode in its final season was running on fumes creatively while setting viewership records, which is the most dangerous combination in entertainment. Record audience, collapsing craft. The gap between those two lines is where franchise value goes to die. HBO made the right call killing SNOW. But the reason they had to kill it is the actual story. Season 8 didn't just end Game of Thrones. It locked the entire franchise in reverse gear. The only safe direction for Westeros is backward, because two showrunners turned the forward timeline radioactive on their way out the door.

The developers of Subnautica 2 want to keep the game non-violent like the first one. They want players to adapt and live with the ocean creatures instead of fighting or killing them with weapons. This core idea started years ago when studio founder Charlie Cleveland chose to leave guns out of the series after the Sandy Hook shooting. He wanted the game to feel like peaceful exploration of nature rather than adding more violence to the world. Even though fans from one country overwhelmingly asked for the chance to craft weapons in the sequel the team says this will be a repeated point of resistance. One developer explained "I think it's a point of resistance that we'll get repeatedly while making the game though we feel strongly about it." So players must instead use smart tools evasion and distraction to survive.

The NYT article reveals that our military is telling President Trump what has been obvious from the onset of this war: there is no quick military solution in Iran and our early actions set the conditions for the stalemate we are in now. Trump’s best option is to declare victory and walk away now. Limit our exposure in the region, reduce the risk of Iran restarting the war on their terms, and reset negotiations with sanctions relief as both carrot and stick. The Iranians have adapted to our attacks. They can “win” simply by not losing. Future strikes will be less effective, cost us more in casualties, and further harden Iranian resolve. Killing the Supreme Leader rallied the Iranian people around the regime. By also eliminating many moderate leaders, we’ve left ourselves with mostly hardliners to negotiate with, who are unlikely to give Trump the concessions he’s demanding. Two lessons we should have learned in the GWOT: 1. If you stay within reach of the enemy, they will adapt and ultimately win the long war by grinding us down. Iran is doing this on a massive scale with ballistic missiles, air defenses, and drones—the same concept as IEDs, just more advanced. 2. Attacking a nation will rally the people around the regime we’re trying to overthrow, or around forces far worse. Regime change is a fool’s errand.

If Pizza Hut can return, then we can resurrect Blockbuster. And we should. While Netflix made things more “convenient” we lost something irreplaceable: The ritual of going to a place with your family or friends to choose a story together. That experience was special.

More empty words and bluster. As many people will notice, this type of intimidation tactic hasn’t (and won’t) work on Iran… At some point, the U.S. is going to have to actually move to reopen Hormuz. No amount of excuses will change that.

Subnautica 2 is a pacifist ideology woven into a game. Players have noticed you cannot defend yourself against attacking fish. Not even in self defense. Only passive means are available. This was by design. You can't kill anything because the devs feel it would support gun violence and aspects of colonialism: "Subnautica is one vote towards a world with less guns. A reminder that there is another way forward." "We want people to feel like they're learning to adapt to the world, rather than being a conqueror or dominator." "We aren't a killing game. Go play Sons of the Forest or something if you want to kill." The anti-violence stance got stronger from Subnautica 1 -> 2, which now has a complete "no kill" policy even when the fish can still kill *you*.

Nick @RekietaLaw went live last night, unveiling a motion tracking camera. This seems like a very good idea when children are known to walk into the office just barely out of frame. This has already yielded the second instance of Narcissist Nick's toes being painted. Nick admits to getting a "cat eye" predicure that involves magnetic gel nail polish and the use of a magnetic to shape the magnetic particles as it dries.

NOW - Trump says it's good to have 500,000 foreign Chinese students in the U.S. and for China to purchase U.S. farmland; otherwise, colleges and farm prices would collapse: "I frankly think that it's good that people come from other countries and they learn our culture."
