I am delighted to learn that Professor Khalilullahi Uthman Gbodofu of the University of Ilorin has been honoured with the 2025 Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding, presented by the Crown Prince of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Al Thani, in Doha.
For a scholar from Ilorin to be recognised on such a prestigious global platform confirms what we have always known—that our home remains a centre of intellectual excellence and that our academics can compete favourably with their peers anywhere in the world.
I congratulate Professor Gbodofu and his family on this well-deserved honour. May Almighty Allah (SWT) continue to guide his path and bless his efforts. Ameen.
