@Phazelton78

Teenage angst has paid off well, now I'm bored and old. Bladder cancer warrior.

I’ve tried to stick with @SkyUK for @skytv but the prices are hiked constantly and miles off new customer rates - the internet is diabolically poor, connectivity between Q-boxes hopeless & dropping out Customer service terrible Can anybody recommend a better alternative?

If you’d walked into your local newsagent’s shop 30 years ago this week then this would’ve been your choice of music paper. What’s catching your eye?

I’m Darren. Will update the profile picture later. I’ve got just a couple of hours to wait until a radical prostatectomy that will remove my prostate, seminal vesicles, lymph nodes… and hopefully all of the cancer lurking therein and thereabouts. Diagnosed at 51 following a routine blood test that showed a high PSA level, indicative of cancer. What faces me now is quite extreme, but it’s life-changing in order not to be life-ending. Guys: knowledge is power. Get the test when it’s offered. In the UK, 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer, with rates higher than that in the black community.

@OfficialTPDTV System of a down, love their music, gig date had been moved twice, they turned up and couldn't be arsed. Imagine no being interested in playing the Barras.

My cousin is from Leicestershire and is a massive Green Day fan. This week she’s in Japan to see them play. That’s dedication to the gig life!!! Living near London all my life I rarely go far to be honest. What’s the furthest you’ve ever gone for a gig?

Had my huge op last week and got out hospital yesterday, I cannot believe the care, dignity and compassion I was given by everyone at Crosshouse and ayr hospitals, my first real experience with the nhs. They are all legends. Now to heal.

5 weeks ago today I got told I had a tumour in my bladder which had grew into my prostate, already had an op, and waiting on major surgery to get my bladder and prostate removed. Got my results today and the good news is, it's not spread elsewhere and surgery should fix me.

@GeordieMark247 Bellahouston and the academy are the worst venues in Glasgow. Swore I wouldn't go back to Bellahouston after guns n roses last year, but green day playing dookie, who was I trying to kid. We park along near the quay and walk back, hefty walk but saves being stuck in traffic.

Very limited hotels in the surroundings area. I'm 45 and have been to hundreds of gigs but this is the worst organised by a country mile.

@North_Ayrshire we reported my mumssl fence 2 years ago, a team arrived last week to remove the existing fence, and we have been told we need to wait until April 2025 to get it replaced. This is a vulnerable OAP, with unsavoury neighbours that both nac and police are aware of

Today’s Lost Classic is Chicks and Let Me Go. Chicks were from Ireland and are basically ungoogleable because of the Dixie Chicks/Chicks rebrand. The original Chicks are, however, better and while they only released two EPs, what amazing EPs they were! youtu.be/OORdehNW-aw?si…

I realise I’m 44 and a little out of touch, but… Raye has just broken the all time Brit awards win record with 6. I’ve never heard of her or knowingly heard her music. The previous record was jointly Blur, Adele and Harry Styles and all of those are household names. 1/2

@gemark1605 Ideal, fjords or Alaska for our next one I think. Alaska is winning as can do a few days in Seattle and hopefully go on a nirvana grunge type tour.

@gemark1605 Good stuff, we cruised in Asia and used their version of Uber too, so cheap compared to taxis outside the port, drivers wanted 75 dollars for a ride into town, fair enjoyed it was 50 mins away but it cost about £6 on the app.

@gemark1605 Just got back from our first cruise. Amazing, check how far your ports are from what you want to see as you can book with external companies much cheaper. We used the ship excursions for ports where it was a fair distance from the sights as the ship would wait if it was late.

@CampanileHotels your bar staff in Glasgow last night were atrocious. Didn't have a clue, under trained, no experience and abandoned by management. They poured 2 single drinks down the sink as they didn't know a double was 2 singles. 3 folk in front of me but waited 30 mins.
