The state in Taiwan calls itself ‘the Republic of China’ and claims all of mainland China as its territory, regarding themselves as its rightful government.
Zero serious Irish nationalists advocate annexing Britain.

To everyone campaigning for Ireland to separate from Great Britain (a united Ireland): Are you pro or against Taiwan independence from China? The shortest gap between GB & Ireland is ~19–20 km. The Taiwan Strait is on average 180 km. If self-determination applies to one island nation, why not the other?
