One of the most outrageous decisions I've seen in recent years has been the privatization of Medicaid in the state of Iowa. When we flip this seat, I'll work to reverse that decision so that everyone has access to quality medical care in this state.

As your State Representative, I will always do everything I can to defend protections for those with pre-existing conditions because it's simply the right thing to do.

In the state legislature, I'll work to ensure this by utilizing a watershed approach and providing adequate funding to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Not to mention assisting local communities remove pollutants as soon as they're identified.

If there's one thing that unites every Iowan, it's water. We all drink it and we all depend on it to keep us healthy. That being the case, it's all the more pressing that our state government offer crucial resources which will protect our streams, rivers, and lakes.

One issue that needs to be addressed more is broadband infrastructure. In HD82, there are too many people who don’t have reliable access to the Internet. As your State Representative, I’ll work to change that so all Iowans have the same opportunities to access the Internet.

From my conversations with voters, I know I'm not alone in this. That's why I'll aim to pass legislation which helps care for families and ensures a brighter future for generations beyond my own.

I feel so blessed to have as big of a family as I do. My wife, Connie, my 4 kids, and 14 grandchildren all make me so happy and I would do anything to provide them a world where they're looked after.

Since the start of quarantine and the shutdowns, we’ve seen a lot of things change. But one thing that remains true is that we need leaders in Des Moines who will take Covid-19 seriously and bring people together to fight the virus, rather than each other.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an icon and a hero to many. A brilliant lawyer and a trailblazer for gender equality, she inspired generations of women and will be sorely missed on the Supreme Court. May she Rest In Peace.

When I think about my 4 kids and 14 grandchildren, I often think about the world we're leaving them. That's why it's so important we leave them a healthy, sustainable planet through the creation of good-paying green energy jobs in order to tackle the climate crisis.

While talking to voters on the phone, I often hear about the outrageous prices they have to pay for their prescription drugs. In Des Moines, we're going to work to bring down these costs and expand price transparency so we can hold these prescription drug companies accountable.

Thank you to former State Representative and former Van Buren County Supervisor John Whitaker for your kind words. Funding for rural school districts is absolutely important to giving our children a quality education and I intend to be a strong advocate for that up in Des Moines.

I'm running for HD82 because I want to see our rural communities thrive. That's why I'll work to see Des Moines provide us the investments we need to fix our roads, expand our connection to the Internet, and create more job opportunities in our rural counties.

Today, we commemorate the victims, the survivors, and the heroic first responders of September 11th. The horrific tragedies from that day will never be forgotten as we continue to come together to keep our country safe.

With less than 10 weeks till the election, we need to do all we can to ensure those who request a mail-in-ballot are given one. As your State Representative, I’ll do all I’ll can to protect that because every vote is important.

Seeking a higher education shouldn’t force you to choose between your wallet and your aspirations. When I get to Des Moines, I'm going to fight to end this harmful cycle and keep higher education attainable for all.

I’m so happy to share that we have been endorsed by 314 Action Fund! STEM professionals are going to play a crucial role in solving our 21st century problems. In Des Moines, I plan on doing just that and will put forward innovative solutions that will benefit HD82.

As someone who is a huge advocate for public education, I couldn’t be happier to share that I’ve been endorsed by the Iowa State Education Association. They do so much good work on behalf of our educators, and I hope to do the same when elected to the state legislature.
