@0Calamity @Bbmorg Sorry to stick my two penneth worth in, but did you happen to notice that initially his hands were under his body? Also did you notice that once he had been disarmed they stopped kicking, ie the level of force reduced dramatically? Just an observation.

I haven't done criminal law for donkey's years, but when I did I spent a good few hours of my week looking at videos, many of them containing acts of violence. The police have an absolute right to use reasonable force - including violence - in the conduct of their duty. If they go beyond what is reasonable, they are no longer acting in accordance with their duty and are arguably committing an offence. Thank you for your concern, though.

I dunno. Maybe I just don't get it. But if a man is on the floor, face down, being tasered, and still has a blade in his hand, wouldn't it be the best thing to do (with your big ole steel toe-capped boots) to stomp on his hand and wrist and kick the knife out of his hand, not kick him in the head?

@Shambles151 @zarahsultana It’s a slippery slope, if we say this is ok it will become normalised. I feel for those officers who were clearly in danger initially but once he was in the ground and face down there must have been other methods that could be used.

For more than 25 years, the Metropolitan Police has been repeatedly found by independent investigations to be institutionally racist, misogynistic and homophobic. The brass neck is staggering. As Commissioner, Mark Rowley’s job is to serve the public, not to make political attacks. Shame on him.

@Shambles151 @zarahsultana If they are refusing to release a knife having already stabbed two people police absolutely can and should until the threat is diminished. The people in the two photographs weren’t and hadn’t hence negligible force was needed. Hope that helps.

@Dannywellbeck2 With the greatest of respect, you couldn’t be more wrong. He had stabbed two people, he wasn’t compliant, he still had the knife in his hand after repeated commands to drop it. They were justified in the level of force they used, which stopped after the knife was removed.

Golders green stabbing; Perpetrator with mental health issues was kicked in the head repeatedly by officers while complying. This is unprofessional of the officers, who must be charged with attempted murder. The person who shouted 'kill him' must also face charges.
