🇺🇸 The USS Boxer is steadily making its way across the western Pacific toward the Middle East as part of Operation Epic Fury. The big amphibious assault ship left San Diego in mid March carrying about 2,500 Marines and sailors from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. It’s now near Guam and heading for Western Asia. Once it arrives in the region, expected sometime between April 23 and 28, the Boxer will link up with the USS Tripoli to boost American naval power there. As a Wasp-class ship, it brings serious firepower and flexibility: it can launch F-35B jets, MV-22 Ospreys, helicopters, landing craft, and support full Marine ground operations from the sea.
