@MikeTSinger The math has all changed. Now you can give a seemingly unlimited number of scholarships (100 or so?), so they can over-recruit the position. You almost have to with unlimited transfer rules and so much free player movement.

@MoveTheSticks I once loved CFB very much. Now that greed has turned it into a professional sport without any cohesive leadership to reign in widespread abuse I no longer care much about it. That said, I agree that 24 is patently absurd.

I love college football. I’m good with 12 team playoff. I think that’s a really good number. Having a 24 team playoff is gross.

@Irishfan7611 @tbhorka Freeman has acknowledged the 2 early losses were the reason they were excluded. ND gave him a raise bc they believe in the direction in which he has the program pointed. I agree with that decision. I think he is one of the best coaches in the country and very happy we have him.

@tbhorka It benefits the ACC to have their teams in the playoffs. Second, why is no one questioning Marcus Freeman more about the two losses at the beginning of the season? That is what kept Notre Dame out. Instead, ND gave him a raise.

2024 Alabama just missed the playoff at 9-3. If you add a 9th conference game that happens to be Texas, and they play Ohio State OOC… 7-5 Bama could be just as good as that team. Do they NEED to be in? Where do we draw the line and tell teams to just win their games?

The First Four will be replaced by a 12-game Opening Round. There will be tripleheaders on Tuesday and Wednesday in Dayton and a second city yet to be determined. Half of the 24 opening-round teams will be the lowest-seeded auto-bids, half will be lowest-seeded at-large teams.

@ByPatForde It’s a real shame. I used to have deep love for college sports. But greed and avarice has ruined the game. As it now becomes a badly disguised professional sport, it’s rapidly driving me away from sports I used to adore.

@DylanEveryday You know Ohio state could put pressure on nbc to have the big ten game of the week on Saturday night what is stopping them? I’m sure they would draw in a prime time match up against Oregon Penn state etc I Mean Ohio state chooses to let fox dictate to them their schedule
