RA’AV – “famine, hunger” “There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt but after them there will arise seven years of ra’av (famine), and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land..” (Genesis 41:29-31)

EMUNAH – “faithfulness” “He has remembered His mercy and His emunah (faithfulness) to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.” (Psalm 98:3)

AISH – “fire” “Is not My word like aish (fire)?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” (Jer. 23:29)

ET KETZ – “Time of the End” “He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the Et Ketz (Time of the End). Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand…” (Daniel 12:9-10)

HOSHEA – “salvation” “The word of the LORD which came to Hoshea (Hosea) the son of Beeri, during the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and during the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.” (Hosea1:1-2)

AARON – “light bringer” – brother of Moses, a Levite and the first high priest “And the LORD said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he went and met him on the mountain of God, and kissed him” (Exodus 4:27)

CHOL – “profane, unholy” “You shall make a distinction and recognize a difference between the holy and the chol (profane, unholy), and between the unclean and the clean.” (Lev. 10:10)

KADOSH – “holy, set apart” “Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, “You shall be kedoshim (holy ones), for I the LORD your God am kadosh (holy).” (Lev. 19:2)

KOHANIM – “priests” “Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of kohanim (priests) and a holy nation.” (Exodus 19:6)

ASHREI - “blessed” “Ashrei (Blessed) are the people whose God is the LORD!” (Psalm 144:15)

TIKVAH – “hope” “There is tikvah (hope) for your future,” declares the LORD, “and your children will return to their own territory.” (Jer. 31:16-17)

SHMO - “His name” “And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and shmo (His name) one.” (Zechariah 14:9)

RAH - “evil” “No rah (evil) will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent.” (Psalm 91:10)

SHINAR – “country of two rivers” – the ancient name for the territory later known as Babylonia or Chaldea “The beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.” (Genesis 10:10)

AHAVA – “love” “He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was ahava (love). Sustain me with cakes of raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am sick with ahava (love). (Song 2:4-5)

NECHEMYAH – “The LORD comforts” “The words of Nechemyah (Nehemiah) the son of Hacaliah. Now it happened in the month Chislev, in the twentieth year, while I was in Susa the capitol,that Hanani, one of my brothers, and some men from Judea.. (Nehemiah 1:1-3)

SHACHAR – “dawn, daybreak” “Awake, my glory; awake, lute and harp: I will wake the shachar (dawn).” (Psalm 57:8)

GAL-EINAI – “uncover my eyes” “Gal-einai (uncover my eyes), that I may behold wonderful things from Your law.” (Psalm 119:18)

TORAH – “law, direction, instruction” “O how I love Your torah (law)! It is my meditation all the day.” (Psalm 119:97)

CHAVER – “a companion, a friend” “I am a chaver (companion) of all who fear You, and of those who keep Your precepts.” (Psalm 119:63)
