Red Crowned Ant Tanager. Forest birds are my least favorite as you can hear loads but see very few. Battling twigs and leaves, I got enough for google lens to ID, which is my strategy for most places in South America. Trinidade, Brazil

Cobalt Rumped Parrotlet. Can't see any blue so might be incorrect ID but according to ebird, that's the only option around here? Trinidade, Brazil

Having finished with 283 birds +/- in Peru, now back in Brazil for my 3rd visit but this very much focused on nature. American Black Vultures bathing was an interesting find and the nictating membrane was in use one of them. Trinidade, Brazil.

@MFan35 I walked nearly 30 miles over 3 days and saw nothing. Had a real sulk and thought that's it, no more. As always, when least expecting, they show. Today I knew they'd be there but 3 was a surprise.

@PhilNovis Congratulations! In the two years that I lived in Ecuador, I was finally able to see a pair in Baños. They spotted me and flew down river. Just a few seconds is all I got.

Searched all through Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and multiple sites in Peru and finally (when least expected) connected with Torrent Duck. Such a feeling of relief. Machu Picchu, Peru

Too close to focus on but gorgeous Slate Throated Redstart was a nice bird in-between the ducks. Machu Pichu, Peru
