@stirjilly @amosshe_uk I think it would be good for AMOSSHE to consider gathering feedback from members and developing a resource aimed at VCs etc which represented to them what kind of environment we need them to create in order for our members (and hence students) to thrive.

Today we said farewell to one of the founding fathers of UMHAN @dan_doran1. His compassion, his focus on the social model of disability and passion for mental health equality has driven our values and our work for nearly 20 years.

@CatrionaRennis1 Young people look increasingly young to older people is not shocking. It is shocking that this person felt they could say such a discriminatory and bullying comment. Hopefully they are less of an idiot than 1st impressions may suggest.

@ArtPennines @UMHANUK @dan_doran1 That’s very kind. Still a very big supporter of UMHAN. Very different from the six of us who first met. Diane Cunningham too - I met her and she understood mental health, which was so unusual at the time - fledgling UMHAN was the outcome.

We’re heartbroken to announce the passing of our senior social media officer Adam Redfern, whose creativity shaped so much of our content. An integral part of our community, Adam was the best of DMU in one person, and we’ll miss him so much. Please read the DMU/DSU tribute here.
