@DataRepublican Why not 'Both-And'? Do the long form, break down the storyline and highlights in threads, and link back to the long form, no?

Friday evening rant. I tried something different this pay period. Instead of threads, I wrote full articles. Research-heavy, source-dense, hundreds of hyperlinks manually verified. The kind of work I actually want to be doing. It tanked, engagement wise. Threads compress well. Articles don't. I argue by accumulation… receipts stacked on receipts, and that style eats hours. Twelve-plus-hour days, seven days a week, between X and private client work. The engagement numbers stopped reflecting that, but that's how it goes. I've never blamed the algorithm. It's a free platform, free market. And plenty of you pay $3/month to subscribe, which I genuinely appreciate. This isn't a complaint. It's me being honest that I'm still figuring out the format. The research is the easy part. Packaging it so people actually read it, and keeping up with algorithm changes… that's the struggle I'm still learning. Back to work.

@DataRepublican Imagine you're walking down the street and see a person who's about to get hit by a truck. Nice is giving them a smile, a wave and telling them to have a good day. Kind is running over and pushing them out of the way. It can be a bit rougher, but kind is love, nice is a lie.

Friday evening rant: I feel like there's a big misconception among Christians that Jesus teaches us to "be nice to get along" people. There's a certain value in that. But here's the key distinction: it only applies as far as compromising the truth doesn't happen. Apostle Paul openly wrote about adopting himself to different cultures ... but for a specific reason, to spread the truth. Also keep in mind Apostle Paul got beaten multiple times. Read that again. Apostle Paul gave up his heritage, his ethnicity, his whole identity ... to spread the capital-T Truth. And the reward wasn't "getting along." It was being openly beaten up and imprisoned. Jesus said: "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you." Jesus does not want evangelicals to stay home, be "nice," be focused on their families. What that message means to you -- only Jesus can tell you. I have said several times that Jesus places people where they witness to refugees and other roles that would be construed as "leftist." So I do not judge Christians who are called into those roles. But if you are a Christian, and you are afraid of making conflict -- perhaps it's time to pray and ask why.

@SKDoubleDub33 @DataRepublican “Time to start making noise” so it isn’t just me that thinks Republicans act like church mice on Sunday? Only a select few do we actually hear fighting hard for the American way of life and her people.

@DataRepublican Being nice is not wanting to annoy someone or do anything that might make them feel uncomfortable. Being kind is telling people the truth in a way that shows that you care. Eph 4:32. Kindness is a virtue. Niceness is a lie. There's a huge difference.

Remember my short ebook You're On Your Own? The 10-chapter, 90-minutes-to-read roadmap to starting your own agency? youreonyourown.xyz No? Yes? Sort of? Well, two pieces of news about it. One — I just passed 1,500 copies sold. Truly amazing and beyond my expectations! Two — as of today, it's now available on audiobook thru Audible. Big thank you to the incredible @PhilSchoen for lending his voice to the project. So now, you can spend 90 minutes listening to the things I spent almost 20 years learning about those early days building an agency... in your car, at the gym, or anywhere else you listen to things. audible.ca/pd/Youre-on-Yo… I have a bunch of promo codes for the audiobook and I am eager to give 'em out. DM me if you'd like one :)

I played for Nick Saban, Bill Belichick, and Sean Payton. I studied under some of the greatest coaching minds in the history of professional football. And after the Lord saved me, I realized something that changed everything. Every single leadership principle that made those teams thrive is biblical. They just did it for the glory of man instead of the glory of God. Here is what I mean. Belichick taught us to do our jobs. Scripture commands us to work as unto the Lord, not for the approval of men. (Col. 3:23) Belichick held Tom Brady to a higher standard than anyone else. Scripture says to whom much is given, much is required. (Luke 12:48) Belichick cut the cancer immediately, no matter the cost. Scripture tells us that a little leaven leavens the whole lump. (Gal. 5:9) Belichick sacrificed personal credit and took responsibility for every loss. Scripture calls leaders to be servants first. (Matthew 20:26) Brady sacrificed personal stats for the good of the team. Scripture says do nothing out of selfish ambition, but in humility consider others above yourself. (Phil. 2:3) Brady could encourage a teammate and confront him in the same breath. Scripture says speak the truth in love. (Eph. 4:15) These men did not know they were pulling from eternal, biblical commands. But the principles worked. They always work. Because truth is truth whether the man wielding it knows its source or not. Now imagine this. If these principles built a two-decade dynasty in professional football with men who did not know the Lord, what would God do through His church if we humbled ourselves and followed the same playbook? What would happen in your marriage if you coached yourself harder than you coach anyone else? What would happen in your home if you cut the cancers of laziness, passivity, and selfishness? What would happen in your leadership if you stopped protecting your ego and started serving your team? The blueprint is not new. The playbook has been written for two thousand years. The question is whether you are willing to run it. I spent 10 years in the NFL and the best locker rooms I ever walked into operated on principles that Scripture laid out long before football existed. Stop looking for a new framework. Open the Book. And do your job.

@megbasham @christopherrufo It was better, but it was a missed opportunity. To counter darkness, you need light. They should have gone for singers like Forrest Frank, Brandon Lake, CeCe Winans, Mercy Me, Crowder, Josiah Queen, etc.

I truly did. Now, I recognize it wasn’t on par with a great Super Bowl performance. But I especially enjoyed his last song. And I enjoyed getting to know the other performers who I was not familiar with. But I also think we have to remember, we’re not comparing it to the best of the Super Bowl performances either. When you actually listen to Bad Bunny’s performance, the thumping pagan rites may have been diverting to watch, but the actual sound of his voice is god-awful.

Love Christopher and his work, but I see this differently. It’s not about trying to teach a lesson to the NFL or prove that that we can dominate in the pop culture arena. For me, it was really just about the pleasure of having another option that my family and I could enjoy. And we did. So maybe I’m not playing 4-D chess with this thing, I don’t know. But I’d very much like to see that other option continue.

The problem with the annual conservative outrage cycle over the Super Bowl halftime show is that it has no impact on the NFL and makes conservatives look weak and left behind. Kid Rock does not change this calculus—he reinforces it. The ghettoization of conservative culture.
