I’m probably the worst leader of a company due to my absolute unwillingness to even look into AI. I rather enjoy the work, even the mundane, and would rather employ someone who feeds a family than automate it. We might lose our efficiency, but not our humanity. Good morning.

@PhilWCC Sure, I am not saying not using AI features to find efficiencies, I am talking about the full fledged adoption in replacing people.

@ottoscholl Took about four minutes. I’m pretty good at that because I’ve done it many times over the years. It would’ve taken me 90 minutes. If I gave it to someone else on my team with less experience doing that it would’ve taken them half a day. We all got to talk to customers instead.

@ottoscholl For example, the other day I downloaded an enormous dataset of cash grain bids for a variety of crops and delivery periods. I instructed the robot to give me 5 of the 30 columns, corn only, Wednesday or the closest business day, nearby delivery.

@sanegrain From my perspective, the amount of planning, thought, and energy that goes into 20-30 minutes of talking to people that I may never see again is thoroughly exhausting. It’s a big responsibility.

I have more energy after loading a 12 hour shuttle train than after a 1 hour grain marketing meeting. What’s that mean?

40+ farmers at the grain marketing meeting. No pictures to protect the innocent.

Passing judgment on every decision once you have access to information that was unknown when you made it will paralyze you. Make the best quality decision you can with the information available plus your knowledge and experience. Move on. Repeat forever and you will progress.

@drewlock I’m master 5 super heavy which means I’d stay standing for 4:15, get two stalling penalties, then try to get a takedown. Or if you pull guard, try to get an advantage right away then boulder up with just enough movement not to get penalized. 🙄

My toddler loves rocks. We routinely find them in pants pockets, jacket pockets, anywhere she can stash them I have a rock tumbler. Bought some polishing media and grits Going to surprise her in about a month with a whole mess of polished rocks for her pockets/collection

And I’m not saying this because prices are down tonight. It’s my only answer no matter which way prices go.

Had the privilege to talk to a group of farmers this weekend. Lots of questions along the lines of “why are soybeans up?” I don’t know and it doesn’t matter. My answer sounds flippant but it isn’t. Prices move around. You need revenue in excess of cost. Take it when it’s there.

@MaizeingPete No, we all knew what guns were and weren’t for and were taught how to use them safely as soon as we were old enough.
