The Hornets are maybe the NBA's weirdest rebuild. Between LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Kon Knueppel they've got 3 dynamic shooters who can play off of each other, creating a really intriguing offensive trio. Then with the additions of Collin Sexton and Spencer Dinwiddie to diversify the offense, you can see the roots of a high-octane, "run & gun" style team with LaMelo at the helm. With that said though, unless 2nd round pick Ryan Kalkbrenner pans out, or Moussa Diabate proves to be a legitimate rotation player, they're relying on Miles Bridges and Mason Plumlee as their primary backline help. The two best on-ball defenders on the roster? Josh Green and Pat Connaughton. Needless to say, there's almost nothing to look forward to in the front court, or on the defensive side of the ball. So while they'll be a fun-watch, and are starting to build an identity, they're still missing a few pieces to take their young core to that next level.
