@keira_con Its extraordinary in that its not him or his family speaking. It's some NGO or refugee aid organisation speaking through them.

The statement issued by the family of Ahmad Al-Suqour is, in my view, extraordinary. It begins by stating that he is "innocent until proven guilty." The legal principle is actually that every accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty. That presumption exists to ensure the burden of proof rests with the prosecution and that a fair trial can take place. However, the public is equally entitled to discuss facts that have been widely reported. A woman is dead. It has been publicly reported that the suspect travelled by late-night bus to Dublin Airport, boarded a flight to Jordan, and was later arrested there following an international investigation. In criminal proceedings, a suspect's conduct after an alleged offence may itself become evidence. Depending on the circumstances, prosecutors may ask a court to consider whether post-offence conduct including leaving the jurisdiction is capable of supporting an inference of consciousness of guilt. Whether any such inference should be drawn depends on all of the evidence and is ultimately a matter for the court. The family's statement then goes beyond asserting the presumption of innocence. They warn of legal action against people who discuss the case, state that evidence will be submitted to Jordan's Cybercrime Unit, and even refer to pursuing people through "tribal customs and traditions." Many readers will find that language unusual and potentially intimidating. There are also legitimate questions arising from the publicly reported facts. If the reported timeline is accurate, why leave Ireland so soon afterwards rather than remain and assist the investigation? That is a question many people will naturally ask. Likewise, if a person previously sought international protection in Ireland because they claimed they could not safely remain in their country of origin, how were they later able to return there? That is a legitimate question about the operation of the asylum system and one that deserves public scrutiny. Discussing verified facts is not defamation. Asking reasonable questions about public policy is not racism. The courts alone will determine guilt or innocence based on the evidence presented before them, and that process should be respected. At the same time, attempts to discourage lawful public discussion through threats of lawsuits or references to tribal consequences should not prevent people from debating matters of genuine public importance.

@AhernHerbe8277 Completely amoral ppl. And no wonder so many of them are all in on the immigration/asylum game. They moved into that because it was much more lucrative than personal injury cases. They'll always migrate to the most profitable work as their greed knows no bounds.

Same in Dublin and the cities too, they are the biggest bunch of rogues on the planet in my humble opinion. I had to work with a lot of them in my last job, and most though not all are horrible, worst group of people I have ever ecountered. A lot of them are straight out of a Charles Dickens' novel or something. In fairness to Jim he is taking him on. As a solicitor himself he knows what they are up to!

Hardworking miners are not similar to bloodsucking, overpaid, pampered solicitors living off the taxpayer's teat actually. Not at all. Especially as the solicitor and barrister professions in Ireland, are essentially a "closed shop" profession due to their Victorian trainee system, which in the vast majority of cases limits these careers to people of certain families, merit not coming into it at all. The exact sort of immoral nepotistic corruption the Trade Union movement was founded to abolish, and which is illegal in every other every walk of life!

@EoinLenihan "Junior minister Neale Richmond hired Nick Lee as his Special Adviser. Lee, formerly a press officer for People Before Profit, was appointed to advise the Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs in April 2025." Centre-right LOL. Far-left more like it.

FF/G just got rid of the three day wait to abort babies. FF/G introduced abortion. FF/G introduced gay marriage then turned Gay Pride into an annual cringe fest for their politicians. FF/G introduced some of the most liberal surrogacy laws in Europe. FF/G kicked open the borders to Ireland so that 1 in 4 is now born overseas. FF/G have expanded the Civil Service by almost 50% since 2015. FF/G spend over €6 billion per year on NGOs and has elevated some of the most radically left ones - Women's Council, Women's Aid, Refugee Council, etc. to the status of policy shapers. That's just some of their greatest hits from the past decade or so off the top of my head. They are, on social and economic policy level, leftist globalists. FF/G have done far too much damage to be able to convincingly spin their way into being centre-right parties. And I haven't touched on the deep corruption in each party or their ingrained sense that only they have a right to run the country. They need - for the first time in their histories - be made to feel consequences for their actions. And that means - due to the severity of the damage to the nation over the past two decades - the dustbin.

@IrishmanIRL The only workable deterrent for such abuses is stopping all their welfare payments, free services & housing & effecting large-scale deportations.

If you're a family living in private rented accommodation and are given notice to quit, you face a nightmare with finding a new rental and affording it. You are largely left to your own devices. Yet, refugees families, whose asylum application has been approved, leaving IPAS centres have the housing minister seeking their details in order that he can find rental accommodation for them (which, by the way, means competition with the family above). It's a 2-tier system and you aint in the first tier! Apparently, 475 refugee families are leaving IPAS centres in July 2026, and the housing minister has intervened with the justice minister so that he can ensure the families find housing.

@nwl88444048 And a fair proportion of these are failed asylum seekers who were granted leave to remain for some spurious reason. Not approved refugees & will never be able to support themselves in this country yet get the leg up over local candidates years, even decades, on the housing list.

@Margare27461789 @MichealMartinTD There are only 2 languages in this country. If you can't speak them tough luck. Most are getting free healthcare, a translator & delaying care to other patients. A symbol of weakness & stupidity. I lived in non-English speaking countries & I was never afforded such privileges.

When you put this 👇 into contextual reality, which is just a snapshot, of the national daily requirements for interpretation services in our hospitals, courts and general public services, @MichealMartinTD stance on a non language test requirement is off the wall.
DiarmaidOCon@DiarmaidOCon

St James' hospital needed almost 30 interpreters every day on average. Integration is a word used to pacify people to the effects of orchestrated plantation of their nations. Assimilation is the exception now, Ireland is importing direct competition to its way of life.

I just listened to Helen McEntee on @rtenews saying nothing meaningful about the terrible murder of Jamey Carney. She put her murder, with all other murders of females in Ireland, in the context of violence against women but never once mentioned the role of illegal immigration.
