@BradenLittle13 I think back to the material we learned about in class with data mining. We have a general idea about it sometimes but this documentary amplified that idea of the lack of privacy. #eme4390s22

Watching "The Social Dilemma" has reaffirmed the idea our data privacy is constantly at risk when using internet/social media services. #eme4390s22

@TumasSabaliaus I agree! "The Social Dilemma" definitely opened up my eyes to be more cautious with how I use social media and technology in general

"The Social Dilemma" adjusts how I look at my digital identity and lifestyle in a way that I have absolutely no privacy. Meaning, someone or something is always watching me and always logging my data and activity that I do on my phone. I need to be more aware of this! #eme4390S22

@AlisaK04014860 Seeing their enactment of how the algorithm is controlled was such a good example of this. It was insane to see how much goes into monitoring us on technology #eme4390s22

It’s crazy how social media knows so much about us and can track all the moves we make, such as suggest people to us we might know. #eme4390s22

Overall, "The Social Dilemma" shed a great light on the impact of technology in society. Sometimes we are so consumed with the things we like about social media that we do not even stop to consider the negative components #eme4390s22 @SocialDilemma_

"How do you wake up from the matrix when you don't know you're in the matrix?" This is really emphasizing the illusion that technology brings #eme4390s22

As a psychology major, it is really interesting and crazy to learn from "The Social Dilemma" about the psychology that goes into technology #eme4390s22

I think we all have some sort of awareness that technology is monitoring us. But really hearing all of the information that they have about us is absolutely crazy. #eme4390s22

How exactly are these big tech companies making money? "If you're not paying for the product, then you are the product." This is a scary statement to take in. #eme4390s22

It is scary to hear about Lisa Magrin’s story being tracked through an app on her phone. It is extremely intrusive. New York Times’ “Your Apps Know Where You Were Last Night, and They’re not Keeping It Secret” by Jennifer Valentino-DeVries et al. #eme4390s22

There was a phrase I found interesting in “Guest: Are apps becoming a human crutch?” in The Seattle Times by Howard Gardner and Katie David. This is “app-dependence where people have come to overly rely on apps for their recommendations. #eme4390s22

In the article “Guest: Are apps becoming a human crutch?” in The Seattle Times by Howard Gardner and Katie David, they discuss the influence of apps. They have become powerful to the point where we have become dependent on them. #eme4390s22
