I will present our work on „Explainable Conversational QA over Heterogeneous Sources via Iterative Graph Neural Networks“ tomorrow at 9 AM in the „Conversational search and recommendation“ session at #SIGIR2023 in Taipei. Joint work with @RishirajSahaRoy and Gerhard Weikum.

@d_aumiller @RishirajSahaRoy CLOCQ can provide disambiguations and relevant KB-facts. If the KB-facts are not required, they can be left untouched. The 370 GB memory requirement is only for the server, which loads a whole Wikidata dump in memory (~2TB originally). The client doesn't require (much) memory.

@RishirajSahaRoy @PhilippChr97 But can I just do the NEL annotations over text? It seems overly complex for the task that I want to do, which is simply to annotate entities in text. Not the whole QA bit associated with that. 370 GB memory requirement seems oddly high, given that spacy-nel works with <2GB.

During our lecture "Text Analytics", we were talking about Named Entity Linking (NEL) and it turns out that there is *no* system that works "out of the box" for this?? Like there are packages, but none of them would let me actually run this with a single pip install + import.
