Incredible footage from an helicopter of the mountain rescue of the basal detachment in Marmolada. Water lubrication at the base (or interstrata) and increased pressure in water-filled crevasses are probably the main causes for this catastrophic event

Copernicus #Sentinel1 interferogram reveals a clear normal fault rupture (at depth) from the July 22 M6.3 #earthquake in Tibet, China. Processed with DIAPASON at @esa_gep #InSAR. 3rd strong ~E-W extensional event for this year at the Tibetan Plateau.
