Yes, the pressures at the front door are immense, but so many of the ‘solutions’ are directed at either increasing physical capacity in A&E or speeding up discharges through the back door. What about in between? Attention MUST be given to therapy/rehab services #therapy #rehab

Walking Stick MOT Week November 14-18 Encourage colleagues to think about those they know - patients, friends or family - who use a walking stick and encourage them to check the bottom of it, as a worn ferrule can cause a fall #walkingstickMOT #fallsprevention

Great response already to the mobility aids amnesty @UHSussex! Returns bins available in the foyer of the Barry building RSCH and Hove polyclinic - these items have a long life and can be cleaned and reissued reducing our carbon footprint and saving money @GreenerNHS

As a Geriatrician and a fellow human, what an example of positive ageing & and what a way to go; at home, with family, comfortably, quickly and enjoying life up until your final days. What a woman.

Level 10 of the Stage 1 Building will be home to our therapies teams, who last week visited the site to take a look for themselves.👀 Marlize Phillips, Head of Occupational Therapy, said: "It’s exceeded my expectations. Even just looking at this view will make you feel better.”

@BartrumSophie @GeriSoc So true! Early intervention & prevention at basic levels sadly lacking in so many areas of health & social care. We need more staff & right skill mix to help maintain independence & promote ongoing rehab daily, not do things to people to save time or overly restrict mobility.
