I think you will find most people don't have a problem with this policy and most have said it is long overdue. Read the responses from my post on Friday. As long as the lead in gives them time to prepare most are accepting that some things need to change. We need to have a very serious talk about government spending. Also what the rest of us consider wasteful.

Their brief was to get NZ out of debt after Labour. They "fixed" that by spending more than them. Total fail. Then they rubbed salt in the wound by bringing in uncapped numbers of Indians. That went down well. Now, after telling kiwis to be like Indians and work hard, the ultimate insult is to tell those who have built this country and counted on their retirement that they will have to wait another 2 years for it. The Treaty of Waitangi was a document ceding sovereignty to Queen Victoria by over 500 Maori Chiefs so all NZers were subject to British law.
