@Lake_Eagle23 @Philly_Bul215 Bro he said he would’ve preferred Hurts force it to AJ here instead of the taking the easy pass to Smitty on this lol.

@Philly_Bul215 Sitting right there in zone coverage waiting to jump it. Then would've called it a bad decision on Jalen part! 😂

@AjBertucci Then why the fuck are you here? That’s the question I asked. If Ladd and Keenan combine for 24 yards tonight, there’s no doubt we get destroyed.

Just a quick question for everyone out there. If Justin Herbert’s WR1 has 8 yards and his WR2 has 16 yards, how bad do the Chargers lose tomorrow? 50 points? 60 points?

@Philly_Bul215 He did very well first half. 2nd half he kinda got conservative, a lot of heavy set formations running saquon up the middle into a wall.

@ShaneHaffNFL Do you think they need a burner type receiver to open up some space? I know we kill Quez a lot but the passing offense looked way better with his threat of speed on the field.

That completes my offensive all-22 rewatch. Major takeaways: 1⃣ I really liked how the Eagles opened the game. They utilized a variety of formations early, including a misdirection toss out of 13 personnel, a cool screen design to Will Shipley, and a PA bootleg. The offense got really stale later, but some of that is unquestionably related to Dickerson getting injured, Mailata getting banged up, and the weather delay. So I won't kill the offensive design too much but... 2⃣ The Cowboys stacked the box a lot and it was really bizarre to see the Eagles not try to make them pay downfield outside the numbers. That has been their response to loaded boxes for years now. 3⃣ Running into the teeth of the defense out of 13 personnel stinks. I'm not sure if that happened as a response to the BVS injury or if it was planned all along, but it needs to stop. 4⃣ The Eagles operated from condensed sets too much for my liking. The biggest benefits of being in condensed formations are how hard it makes it for defenses to distribute routes in man coverage (the Eagles prefer if you play man coverage), the ways you can use motion to set up blocks in the run game and to sell UC PA (the Eagles rarely used motion or UC PA), and then building off of that, the way you can manipulate LBs to create openings in the intermediate middle of the field (where the Eagles attempted 0 passes). The negatives are that it makes it easier for the defense to disguise pressure packages and coverage, and makes it harder to attack outside the numbers. So basically, the Eagles made it harder to diagnose things both pre and post-snap and sacrificed the most explosive element of their passing game for no discernible benefit. 5⃣ It was nice to see some quick game, especially to Dallas Goedert, but overall I thought they were way too reliant on spacing/all-curls type concepts. 6⃣ Jalen looked awesome as a runner. That is the best he has looked in that department since 2022.

@thewolfofy No one is forcing anything but yall with this top 5 stuff when bruh is just simply good enough to win.. A dropped Ferguson TD, Miles Sanders fumble in the red zone and multiple CeeDee drops have nothing to do with nothing I guess.🤣

Kevin Patullo’s first game as the OC is being overly and unfairly criticized. Yes AJ and Smitty have to be involved much more for this offense to reach its intended form, but Dallas played a very solid game defensively, covered them very well, and I believe the Eagles offense took exactly what was given. Jalen Hurts was decisive, he looked quick and elusive, and he was extremely accurate and efficient. Patullo engineered 4 straight scoring drives with his QB before everyone got cold after the delay. I have no reason to be concerned just yet, especially since it was week 1 when it’s the most unpredictable week in football. #Eagles

Eagles 24, Dallas 20: Jalen Hurts Rewatch Report Card ** Jalen Hurts is probably the No. 1 reason the Eagles won that game. Early on when nothing was going right on offense or defense he basically improvised his way up-and-down the field to keep the Eagles in it. If you wanted to see Hurts carry the team then the first half was exactly what you’ve been waiting to see. ** Hurts was devastating with his legs. The Cowboys played good defense. Hurts just made special plays to turn nothing into something consistently. ** Watching it live I was not impressed with the passing game. Re-watching it I still wasn’t but I thought the issue was more guys not open than Hurts missing open guys. At times last year throws were open and Hurts just wasn’t throwing it. There wasn’t much of that last night. Hurts looked to me like he was trying to hold it until guys came open but often nobody did and he ran. ** Once again no turnovers. It’s the most important stat for Hurts and it’s probably why the Eagles won and the Cowboys lost. ** The passing game looked to me like it did for most of training camp. Just not really ever in a good rhythm. ** Outside of 3 or 4 plays I thought Hurts made really good decisions with the ball. The issue is those 3-4 plays were potential passes to AJ, and on a night where he wasn’t getting the ball, I would have liked to see Hurts maybe force it to AJ more than he did. ** I went with a B+ after the game and stuck with a B+ after the rewatch. The passing game just wasn’t good enough for it to be an A and while it isn’t his fault primarily he still has to hold blame for that

AJ Brown wasn’t open early in the game but as it went on there were chances AJ is open here. Hurts seems to be looking at him. Hesitates and the window closes In a game where AJ wasn’t getting the ball I think the ball should go to him here

If the Eagles want to be a vertical passing game and get AJ the ball this to me seems like a ball that should maybe go to AJ Hurts goes to Devonta which is a fine throw but AJ is 1on1 going down the field. A good chance to give him a chance

@EliotShorrParks So last year your dumbass was hating on him because he was holding on to the ball too long and not taking his check down, so this year you’re hating on him for making quicker decisions and hitting his check down? Lol and that’s why all of Philly hates you
